"We read reviews from earlier this year, and we’re concerned about the cleanliness and the condition. Property was spotless inside, and things were a bit aged and worn, but that did not matter to us. We didn’t expect a separate downstairs apartment, which was nice except for the lousy bunkbed mattresses. The three bedrooms upstairs were very comfortable. It occurred to me to ask whether I could fix some of the little things that a homeowner can do, but I decided I’m not picking up a screwdriver all week. My son and I noticed lots of aluminum shards in the sand just as soon as you step up the concrete going towards the ocean. These could be easily taken up by one of those rolling magnets. Taking care of that little problem would go a long way towards safety and comfort.. We like to try different beach houses every year, and we’d gladly return to Shoo Fly again."
