The Californian 34 LRC was built in California and was considerably ahead of its time as one of the first, modern planing "trawler" style yachts. The hull and topsides are full molded fiberglass with no wood structure. The decks are fiberglass with no teak. The well built, all fiberglass hull is designed for speed and stability and achieved an excellent reputation. This example was built by the designer's company, Marshall Boat Company. That company was purchased in 1982 by Wellcraft and in 1987 by Carver.

. The full size refrigertor was replaced and the decks painted last year. New carpets were installed this year. The boat is kept on a commercial fishing dock , rockpile.
