"This place is even better than the reviews give it credit for. It's modern, spacious, and the customer service is attentive. It has a pool, and although it does not have a gym, there's a really wonderful park with running trails next door. On top of that, it's quite literally steps away from Melrose Arch, close enough to food and attractions, but far enough to be quiet at night. I've stayed in many different places in the city, and this may be my new go-to place to stay in Joburg!"

"Clico Boutique hotel is a really nice establishment. The room was very clean. The bathroom is quite large with waterfall shower head and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately my sister got very ill after having dinner at the hotel. She had no energy, could hardly walk or speak. When we arrived home we took straight to the hospital and there we found out that she had samenella poisoning in the blood along with a bacterial gut infection which contributed to borderline kidney failure. "This is definitely not a 4 stars hotel. It must be a 2 stars boutique homestay instead. Room is too small for 2 king bed. Bathroom is too small with old shower stall. Old furniture and squeaking wood floor. Felt unwelcome by the management. Definitely not happy stay and not recommend to others. "
