Watch local and international theatre productions at Montecasino’s two theatres. Previous shows have included The Lion King and High School Musical. If you get hungry, choose from around 40 options, including pubs, ice cream parlors and fast food outlets. Dining is also available in the Italian-style piazza, which features a musical fountain.
Stroll along the pathways of the Bird Gardens, a walk-through aviary. Look out for parrots, pelicans, flamingos and owls. There are more than 60 bird species here as well as reptiles and small mammals. Visit the amphitheatre to see flight displays. Take a ride on the giant helium balloon that departs daily from the gardens.

Montecasino is a 30-minute drive north from downtown Johannesburg. Drivers will find a large metered car park on-site. Alternatively, take the metro bus from the city centre.
