"Located in the heart of Charleston, the Mills House Hotel is a luxury hotel with all the ammeniteis. The courtyard has a beautiful fountain and large fireplace and we loved having drinks out here. It is also the outdoor dining section of one of the hotel restuarnts, Iron Rose, which we ate at several times and it was excellent. The pool area is lovely though a little small for the size tof the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the woman who took care of our room was a gem. They also have an informal cafe on site. We had a great time there!"

"With Wyndham’s name tied to the property, you would think it was clean and decent. Nope, do not let the lobby fool you. The rooms are old and renovations were poorly done. You can tell majority of the $2 million dollars were spent on the lobby area. The plastic wall panels are stapled and peeling. Every corner of the hotel is dirty. The A/C unit for the hallway was out so it was blazing hot. The A/C in the room was barely holding on. You can tell how many times the doors and walls have been painted. Its like a section 8/project type dwelling. The toilet seats were yellow and peeling… never in my 4 decades of life have I ever seen this. There is breakfast but don’t think its a self serve, they will serve you. It is hot but its not delicious- go to ihop. The motels on each side is janky. I will never stay at another Wyndham property. They have lost my business for life. My suggestion: spend that extra few bucks for a quality room."

"We are locals who stayed for a staycation for my birthday. Everything about Charleston Place is five star but the thing that sets this hotel apart is the service. Charleston is a friendly and polite city and everyone we encountered at the hotel was very professional but also warm and friendly. True Charleston hospitality. The restaurant is superb and the spa is great."
