"We really enjoyed our stay at Tom’s place. Beautiful view and listening to the waves is so relaxing. We had great weather when we were there and didn’t need the air conditioning on very much. It was nice having the doors open to listen to all “the beach sounds”. The unit was very clean and the kitchen had pots and pans that one could actually use! "This listing had everything I look for in a getaway - cleanliness, safety, location, beauty, and host communication. It was super clean upon arrival. There are also cleaning products to use if you need them. The convenient digital deadbolt lock worked perfectly. "Overall our stay was fine with a few issues. 1. Location is not the best, would look for other options closer to French Qtr. 2. Thin walls, could hear neighboring rooms. 3. Visible code compliance issues. Door to room did not have smoke gaskets, windows were inoperable could not have been used for emergency egress. 4. No thermostat in room, no control of room temperature. Will not return."

"We just got back on Saturday from a week stay at the Surf Shack. We had a wonderful vacation and the Surf Shack was a great place to stay. The owner responded quickly to any questions we had and the neighbors on both sides were very friendly and offered great recommendations on restaurants. We enjoyed the porch and it was a great place for our dog to hang out since it was fenced in. We will definitely rent the Surf Shack again!!"

"Check in was simple and easy, parking is in a lot half a block across the street. Room interior was as described, balcony was tiny, barely enough room for 2 people. Kitchen was very small with almost no counter space. Stove and oven was tricky to figure out as all the markings on the knobs have worn off. Property was ok, small basic pools indoor and out. Good place for 2-3 people max. Access to the beach was good. Overall I'd give it a low 4 overall."

"The property has the best location ever, the views of the sunrise from the bed rooms are incredible. It felt like we were on a cruise ship, so close were we to the waves. Perfect to relax and play on the beach with the kids. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. We'd definitely come back."

"We stayed in the south building and it seemed newly renovated. Love the “beach” Colors in the room along with the small kitchenette and the double bathroom sink (with one outside the toilet area). Very clean, staff were attentive, beach was terrific! Location was very good too. My only suggestion - there is a $40/day resort fee. That SHOULD include beach chairs or the use of bikes. While I appreciated the ability to park and the other small perks included in the fee - most of those are standard...
