Hilo Town Inn is very clean and updated. We were very comfortable and Sam was very helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend if visiting Hilo area.
We had a little hiccup with the email providing the check-in info, but once we called it was quickly resolved. The room has been redecorated nicely, with a super comfy bed and cold A/C. Right next to the farmers market, and a short walk to downtown Hilo.
Would definitely stay again.
I loved my room! It was spacious and comfortable, perfect for my needs. This isn’t a modern hotel with tons of amenities, but I found it charming. There was a large bathtub that I enjoyed as well. There is no front desk, but that wasn’t a problem for me. I had text contact if I needed anything.
Parking behind the building. A little dark but not a dangerous area. Big open market near by and lots of restaurant, coffee, and a few breakfast options ( note, we discovered @Subway did good breakfast options around the corner.
Room was great, big, clean, no elevator but got good exercise carrying cases up the stairs. Never actually saw any staff, but the phone support was 10/10. Very good.
Close to things we needed.. if you have a car. Idk uber. AC was perfect. Bed and coffee good. Bathroom... interesting to have a glass window to toilet but....lol
Would recommend!

Liked: Cleanliness
The interior of the property is nice but the exterior is Seriously in need of a face lift. Once we came inside we were pleasantly surprised. Also the area around it is rundown with many homeless on the street. I’ve been to Hilo before and that did not surprise me. Restaurants within walking distance so that’s a plus. Overall it was very good for what we needed for a one night stay.

Check in was super easy. Room was ready on time. Parking is behind the building and free. Room looked clean and was very spacious the only thing for the lack in 5 star rating is the un-welcomed visitors, the cockroaches! There were many, in the bathroom, on the floor, on the walls, outside in the common area!! Bring your raid and sleep with one eye open!
Really good location and very clean room. Only complaint is the windows are not well sealed so you can hear the traffic on the street. Also you can hear sounds from next door very clearly... The owner did provide earplugs but I feel it doesn't necessarily work for everybody.
Very well kept room, clean, and good basic amenities... the location can't be beat! If you are a light sleeper be sure to bring earplugs; the walls are thin and the locals like make a ruckus at all hours of the night. Be sure to eat at Paul's Place on the bottom floor.

When I first pulled up, I was hesitant. I reread the reviews to remind myself of why I booked and then went in. First and foremost, I never saw any bugs let alone the bugs the one review mentioned. The room is spacious, beds comfortable, well appointed kitchenette, and nice water pressure for a real shower. I had gone to the green sand beach before arrival so I needed a good shower! Location is wonderful. I highly recommend the farmers market right behind it. They have souvenirs, jewelry, cool homemade crafts & goods, and a food market w produce vendors as well as teas, coffees, etc. I bought some mangosteens and wow they’re so good! Fantastic location to tide pools over behind the airport, plenty of food options close and into town. Find a place that has Vietnamese iced coffee, trust me!!
There are some unhoused folks along the sidewalks that are super chill, not asking for anything, and are quite charming and kind.
Helpful and responsive staff, easy to follow check in instructions, absolutely recomend if wanting to be close to the downtown events very convenient and walkable to everything.
Spacious room, in an older building. Still had some charm. Very glad for the AC! My room had a door connecting to another room (locked) but it was VERY easy to hear all their conversations and tv noise.
