"Wonderful, friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful, well-laid out rooms. Excellent food at the Fusion restaurant. Pool was one of the best we’ve experienced at any resort. We would highly recommend to all and look forward to returning again soon. "
"I loved this hotel. It was old with lots of charm and located just across the street from the fort wall. It was next to Pedler Street with great shopping. Breakfast was really good with an amazing array of fruit. Overall, this is a great hotel. "
"The location is mesmerizing with crashing waves and blue waters up to the hotel sea wall. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Excellent seafood. Modern rooms and facilities."
"Leijay provided excellent convenience and service on my second visit. It was the only accommodation that I went to twice in Sri Lanka, and it was worth it. "
"Great place to stay very close to the lighthouse. Love the small, intimate, boutique-style feel to it. Make sure to have the egg hoppers for breakfast! Delicious!"
"This was like a piece of tranquil paradise in the middle of Galle Fort. It’s excellently located for exploring the fort and the building is beautifully preserved and offers excellent and spacious accommodation. We loved the room with a garden balcony, as we could watch and hear the world go by from the comfort of our room. The staff are so kind and offer many great tips for places to see inside the fort and were always in hand to make our stay extra special. Breakfast is very sizeable with many...

Galle Fort was a great home base for exploring the many beaches around Southern Sri Lanka. Its the perfect place to stay with great restaurants, shopping and places to peacefully stroll and see the historic town.

Great atmospheric old Fort City. Lovely to experience at any time of day. We saw monkeys and woke up to a wild Peacock parading on the building opposite.

There does not seem a whole lot to do in Galle besides surf and explore the fort, but easy to get to your next destination from here.

Loved this little town. Nice to walk around and really enjoyed the roti hut around the corner that opens at 4pm.

They should charge to enter the Fort and use the money to enhance the place
"The Bartizan's rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was gorgeous. The breakfast was generous, and we were given a packed breakfast on the day we left early. The staff were very attentive. It is located on the coast and walkable to loads of shops and restaurants. It was our favourite hotel in the two weeks we spent in Sri Lanka. "

"A wonderful 3 night stay in the family suite with two double beds. Service from all the hotel staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived, and they went above and beyond from giving us a takeaway breakfast on our last day when we left early, as well as helping with our hired tuktuk! Hotel is further out of Galle Fort (about a 10min tuktuk drive/25 min walk), but setting of buildings onsite is lovely, centred around the main pool and communal outside area. There is a mosque nearby so you can hear the call to prayer, but didn't disturb us."

"This place was a true gem for my wife and me. Tharanga and the rest of the staff blessed us beyond and always with an infectious smile. The meals prepared were amazing too. The pool and garden area was very well taken care and perfect for swim laps. When we return to SriLanka, we will want to make this a another stay:)"
