"This property is located near the shopping center. You have your own shack with a kitchen, living room, room and bedroom. Beds were comfortable and everyone was pretty quiet just depending on the guest we had next-door. I wish we would’ve got one of the sharks that did not have a door to the neighbors because you could hear talking and tv through walls. Inn has nice trail that goes around grounds and is located right off the Carmel River (creek)."

"Best stay in Carmel hands down! My wife and our two poodles (Bali and Cookie) had the pleasure in staying at The La Playa Hotel where we were treated like royalty, atmosphere is out of this world, and our view of the Pacific was heavenly. Love this place! From a recent upgrade in 2023, we can tell our room was modern, shower pressure was amazing, and overall room was spacious (as it’s a pet friendly hotel). They even blessed us with salted caramels and the doggies with special treats. The La Playa Hotel has killer breakfasts items and the coffee is smooth like Sunday mornings. Area around the hotel was super safe. Reminded me of the 1950’s where you can walk every where without a care. Except for the hanging caterpillars that might secretly attack. If you do bring your pets, you have to do the Mad Dogs and Englishman e-bike with side car. We parked ours near the unloading zone and most of the guests said "Hello" to our doggies. Then travel along the Scenic Road and go with the flow. Overall, we loved everything about our stay!"

"We had a great time but were disappointed by the minimal kitchen supplies, pits and pans ( literally 3 total ) and general supplies like trash bags and seasonings ( salt & pepper but nothing else ). For the price we paid, there should be better provisions for families wanting to cook a meal “at home”."

"Owners and property manager were responsive and helpful. The cottage is lovely - basically two primary suites and then a children’s area. The light in the cottage is very nice - windows and skylights make it inviting. The cottage is close to everything - we especially enjoyed daily walks around the scenic loop. Highly recommend this VRBO for two couples or families."

"Great family house with plenty of room to hang in the kitchen/living room and outdoor areas. It’s definitely getting “rental worn” so some updates to the outdoor furniture and kitchen chairs should be looked into. A WiFi extender should be added to reach the master as well. Cellular service is pretty much unavailable in the area. Very short walk to the beach but we opted to drive to town with a baby, though I imagine it’s walkable as well. The house gets HOT even in 66 weather come late afternoon so we were grateful to find fans around the house. Careful to have plans if Carmel reaches 70 because we were traveling with a baby and had a very hard time cooling down the room for sleep one night even with all the windows open and fans cranked. Kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. Can’t speak for the guest beds but the master mattress was comfortable. The pillows were horrible but we swapped for others in the house. The bed in the guest room is very very hard just from feeling it. I can recommend this house for a small family, especially if you have other friends/family staying locally it’s a great central meeting spot. Easy check in/check out and no unreasonable check out requests in regards to cleaning."
