The Burj Khalifa is unlike any other skyscraper you will have seen before. Holding the record as the world’s tallest structure, it rises 830 metres into the sky above Dubai, and is testimony to amazingly innovative engineering and design. The space inside is devoted to priceless luxury, featuring the first-ever hotel developed by Giorgio Armani, as well as prestigious private residences and corporate suites.
The observation deck “At The Top” provides the best possible view of Dubai and the surrounding area. However, your Burj Khalifa experience will begin long before you reach the giddy heights. First of all, you’ll be treated to a multimedia presentation on the history of Dubai and the story of the Burj Khalifa in the reception area. Then step onto a 65-metre long moving walkway under a skylight that gives you an awe-inspiring view of the tower from the ground up.
Once you have made the high-speed ascent in the lift travelling at 10 metres per second, you’ll be greeted by stunning 360-degree views of Dubai, the surrounding desert and the ocean. The observation deck has floor-to-ceiling glass walls, so nothing will obstruct your view. Alternatively, you can venture out onto the open-air terrace to fully appreciate the breath-taking height.
Two floors down from the observation deck, you’ll find At.mosphere, the world’s highest restaurant and lounge. It is open all day for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea, and reservations can be made in advance on the restaurant’s website.
Back on solid ground, don’t forget to explore the Burj Khalifa Park at the entrance to the tower. This 11-hectare space echoes the triple-lobed outline of the base of the skyscraper, and each of the three areas is beautifully landscaped, featuring fountains and other water displays, including the expansive Dubai Lake.
The “At The Top” observation deck is open daily, and is wheelchair accessible. Tickets can be purchased at the office, accessed via the Lower Ground Level of the Dubai Mall. To avoid queuing, you can purchase tickets online or pay extra for Immediate Entry Admission. Travel to Burj Khalifa is easy by metro or bus, with parking available at the adjacent Dubai Mall.
