Dubai Mall is one of the world’s largest shopping centres, but offers so much more besides. As well as over 1,200 shops, the world’s largest gold souk and more than 200 restaurants and cafés, there is also a huge variety of attractions to choose from. Within this 550,000-square-metre complex you’ll find an aquarium, an indoor theme park, an Olympic-sized ice rink as well as a vast 22-screen cinema.
Those in need of retail therapy will be stunned by Fashion Avenue. At over 40,000 square metres, this section of the mall offers the largest collection of fashion brands under one roof anywhere in the world. The choice of luxury and mid-range retailers will ensure you can find any outfit you could possibly wish for.
If you are looking for the perfect piece of jewellery, the Souk is the place to go. More than 100 gold and jewellery retailers are gathered here. Alternatively, for a more relaxed atmosphere, take a stroll down The Village. Along this tree-lined streetscape you’ll find boutiques, cafés and restaurants, all under a retractable roof that is opened during the winter months.
Children will be entertained for hours at KidZania®, specially designed for 4 to 16 year olds. Buildings and paved streets make up this mini-city, where children can pretend to be firemen, doctors, artists and photographers. The older children will be enthralled by SEGA Republic, an indoor theme park over two levels, with an indoor roller coaster, simulator rides and arcade machines.
Don’t miss a visit to the aquarium, home to more than 30,000 marine animals, including sharks and rays. You get a unique view of these amazing creatures when you walk along the 48-metre transparent underwater tunnel. This is as close as you can get without getting wet. An admission fee applies, however there is a giant viewing window in the mall that give you a view of the underwater sights for free.
Dubai Mall is at the foot of the Burj Khalifa. Parking is available for 14,000 vehicles, or alternatively you can travel by metro to the Burj Khalifa Station.
