Just returned from my second stay in New York had a great time buying loads of bargains. Hotel was near central park and a short walk to all the shops. The Salisbury Hotel it's seft could do with a bit of a revamp, Our room was on the eleventh floor at the front of the Hotel it was very noise at times with out side traffic (but this is New York) for the time you spend in your room it was ok.Hotel stafe were very helpful if you needed to know any directions re: restaurants, broadway shows and shop's.Loved my stay look forward to visiting New York again hopefuly
The Peninsula is a fabulous hotel in a prime location a few blocks from Central Park, St. Patrick's Cathedral and a very nice shopping area. The hotel was roomy, comfortable and had lavish accommodations. Both my wife and I felt it was the nicest hotel we have every stayed including other expensive hotels in NYC. We even saw two members of the band AC/DC as we were taking a cab to the airport. The hotel and the attentive staff made us feel like we were VIP's>
I have stayed at the Mela many times and love it. It is a hidden gem of a boutique, midtown Manhattan hotel. I am in NYC for work a lot and while don't love Time Square due to the tourist congestion, it is convenient for my work. The Mela rooms are small (like all NYC hotels) but clean and efficient. The staff could not be nicer and more accommodating. Although I don't get membership points, The Mela is my favorite hotel in the city and I recommend to any traveler heading to New York.
Excellent room views on the city right over Broadway. The curtains offer darkness over night to prevent Broadway lights from getting into the room. The room is small but it's expected. It's a very busy bustling hotel. So the lobby is constantly busy. They check your card before you taste the elevator to your room. I wish they would be more courteous about it. It makes one feel interrogated. Overall great experience
"Nice accommodations in the heart of Times Square"
We spent 6 wonderful nights at Hotel St. James last week for vacation. The hotel facilities are clean, the staff friendly and accommodating and the location is exceptional. I am in the Hospitality industry and you will have all of your basic needs met here. While it is true that the facilities are basic in nature, I found the hotel to be exceptional for our needs. We were in NYC to enjoy the city and all that it has to offer, not stay in our room.
The beds were comfortable and clean. The service from our housekeeper was exceptional. We felt safe and there was a bit of an "era gone by" charm to the hotel.
We arrived at around 11am and were given a prompt check-in since our room was ready (major plus) and were able to secure our luggage on lockers at checkout since we had an evening flight.
This hotel is in a great location for all of the things we wanted to do in the city. It's at time square, if you're going to see a Broadway play, it's perfect. Central Park is right there, and fifth avenue is 2 streets over. If you want to go to the freedom tower you get on the subway station right outside the hotel and it will take you straight there.
I loved my stay at Ckub Quarters. It's a great location, the rooms are large (by NY standards) the beds are comfortable and there are fabulous restaurants and great shopping close by.
I will definitely come back!
The brightest lights of this big city are found in the Broadway - Times Square neighborhood. Experience live entertainment, such as musicals and plays, or tour Rockefeller Center. The iconic St. Patrick's Cathedral graces the entire block of Fifth and 50th and welcomes more than 5 million visitors each year. This thriving area filled with pedestrians also hosts NBC, ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.
