The Paramount is a very nice hotel in NYC! It was very clean and most of the staff was courteous. The first person that we tried to check in with was very short, didn't explain the $75 deposit on the room, and basically took my credit card and said come back at 4:00pm. She was very quick to rush me away. I just went to the concierge to ask my questions and he was very helpful and everyone else I spoke with at the desk was very courteous and helpful. My only complaint is their check-in time. 4:00 pm is late when you are trying to get freshened up and to a show. Because our show was at 3:00pm, we only had the option of changing in the lobby bathroom and then leave our bags with the bell hops. Check-in should be 2pm and checkout should be 11:00am.
The bed was sooo comfortable that I could have stayed for days and all the amenities in the bathroom were great! Didn't have to pack a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, or body wash.
We will definitely plan to stay there again!
The hotel was just off times square, very close to the Toys R Us store, check in was done in a few seconds and allowed us to our room before check in time (Thank you!). Hotel room was as described, very nice standard and views from the 48th floor were nice as 1 wall was completely Windowed. Despite the location the place was really quiet with no noise from neighbours or the street. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Felt like a safe location being so central to everything.
The location of this hotel is perfect, it is almost in the middle of Timesquare next door to the Hyatt. If you are looking for somewhere just to sleep, shower and change at a low cost then this hotel is perfect. It is a little bit run down and not properly maintained. The wifi is horrible it is hardly ever working but for the price and location it wasn't bad.
I stayed here for 7 nights in August and couldn't fault this hotel. The location was perfect, 2 minutes walk down the quieter side street the hotel is situated on and your were in the heart of Times Square. The room was clean and comfortable and being on the 15th floor I heard no street noise whatsoever. The room was on the dark side but as I went out early in the mornings and didn't get back till late in the evenings this did not bother me at all. I hired a refrigerator for personal use from Reception as the other contains items from the mini-bar. The mini-bar was my only gripe. I never went anywhere near it as I read before my trip how sensitive it was and indeed I did get charged $16 which I did not realise until I got back to the UK and checked my credit card statement. I emailed them and got an apologetic reply within an hour and they have advised that they have refunded me. It will be a couple of days before it
shows on my account so I cannot confirm if this has been done as yet. All in all I hope to return to NYC next year and Hotel Mela will be my first choice of where to stay.
i cannot fault this place, staff, rooms, decor, service, style, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, always a friendly smile & advice, great location, would have reservations about recommending this place to everyone.
I stayed at the Novotel with family in rooms with Times Square views above the outside terrace. There was no tea and coffee facilities in the rooms however we asked for a kettle at reception and they were brought up to our rooms right away. All the staff were friendly and the hotel is in a great location within walking distance to the Empire State Building, Times Square, Central Park and subway stations, overall a great base for a trip to New York
I was originally rather dubious about staying here having read other reviews however the hotel was very modern, my room was clean with a comfy bed and great city view. If I could critise anything would be the staff they are all a bit miserable! I would stay here again.
The brightest lights of this big city are found in the Broadway - Times Square neighborhood. Experience live entertainment, such as musicals and plays, or tour Rockefeller Center. The iconic St. Patrick's Cathedral graces the entire block of Fifth and 50th and welcomes more than 5 million visitors each year. This thriving area filled with pedestrians also hosts NBC, ABC, MTV, and NASDAQ.
