Great base for exploring the city

"I booked three rooms here for a group of friends to stay and explore Winchester. The hotel has a secure car park next to the property, although this is quite cramped. The entrance area to the hotel is very grand and the staff throughout our stay were lovely and very helpful. The location is great - a few minutes walk to the High Street and the cathedral/military museums/Great Hall/ Westgate are all within 10 minutes stroll. My room was a good size, very quiet but well laid out. There was both a kettle and a coffee machine and biscuits too. The only 2 observations I'd have would be that none of the plugs had USB charging ports and that the curtains were too long and completely covered the radiators. We didn't take evening meals in the hotel but the breakfast there was lovely, in a nice room overlooking the garden with a good choice of buffet options. The lounge area in the evening was very pleasant to sit in too."

Amazing Birthday Stay.

"Stay absolutely amazing from start to finish, staff very friendly, surroundings and views fantastic. Pool and features were great. Left me a voucher in my riom for a free drink at the bar because it was my birthday. Will definitely be back. Only gripe could have had more options on the breakfast choice (eggs). But a "

Good for the money, but not luxury spa

"Was a nice hotel for the money, but don't expect super high end luxury. Paid for an upgraded room to have bath robes (had to ask for them) and Elemis toiertries (got handsoap and shampoo). The room was clean, although looking tired in places. For the money, I can't fault it, but as mentioned, don't expect a luxury spa experience. The gym, spa and pool are in another building, so not really the type of place you walk around in your slippers and robe (unless your comfortable walking through the carpark). The front of the building and reception areas do look grand, but you find the rear of the property to be a modern (guess 1960's) extension that sits awkwardly in the hotels grounds. Bonus points for being dog friendly!"
