"Very good value for money. Initially a bit apprehensive as I was staying alone with teenage son and our room was right at the entrance to the bar on the ground floor. It felt very safe though - staff and locals using the bar were all very friendly and there were no problems with noise at all. Clean and comfortable room too.
The bar area has a nice atmosphere too. It was quiet enough during the day to sit in a corner and work off my laptop (great coffee served!) and then busier at night where we enjoyed a drink and game of pool."
"Great check in, friendly and informative. Food is delicious, I made the mistake of ordering a starter as the main meals are large portions and great value for money. My advice would be to order a main and if you are still hungry go for a desert but I doubt you will need it. Would highly recommend"
"Communications before our stay were excellent. A very warm welcome awaited us us in a cold wet day. Check in was an easy process and everything was explained thoroughly.
A really interesting hotel in a very historic building. Room was spacious and clean with an enormous bed.
Good facilities in the room with a well stocked mini bar.
Flowers ordered for arrival were fresh and vibrant in colour.
Complementary cheese and wine were served in the covered courtyard. Very generous servings and a warm welcome from the staff.
Dinner in the Tempest restaurant was great. Food was vey well presented and ideally portioned.
Breakfast has many choices and again food is plentiful.
Check out was swift and efficient.
