The best area to stay in Barrio Nuevo is the Old Quarter, particularly around Calle Mayor and the Plaza de la Constitución.

This area is the historical and cultural heart of Barrio Nuevo. It's characterised by its narrow, cobbled streets, traditional Canarian architecture, and a relaxed pace. You'll find a variety of independent shops, local eateries, and small art galleries scattered throughout. The Plaza de la Constitución is a central gathering point, often hosting local events and offering a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Couples looking for a romantic and authentic experience will find the Old Quarter particularly appealing. Its charming streets are great for leisurely strolls, discovering hidden courtyards, and enjoying intimate dinners at local restaurants. The proximity to historical sites like the Church of San Miguel also adds to its appeal for those interested in local heritage.

For those prioritising convenience and direct access to the waterfront, the area around the Marina is an excellent option. This district offers modern accommodation with views of the harbour and easy access to boat trips and waterside dining.

The best time to go to Barrio Nuevo is generally from May to October, when the weather is consistently warm and sunny, superb for enjoying the beaches and outdoor activities.

During these months, you can expect average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C, with minimal rainfall. This period is ideal for beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts who want to make the most of the island's coastal offerings. The sea is also at its warmest, making swimming and snorkelling particularly enjoyable.

For those who prefer a slightly milder climate and fewer crowds, late spring (May-June) and early autumn (September-October) are excellent choices. The weather remains pleasant, and you can still enjoy all the attractions without the peak summer rush. This makes it a good option for couples seeking a more relaxed holiday.
