"Lovely breakfast , public lounge areas &dinner"

"The location is the winner - people definitely visit to stay in a truly incredible part of the country. This is our second trip in less than a year, and unfortunately Portavadie is looking very tired indeed. I was quite shocked at the lack of cleanliness in common areas (corridor outside our room was gritty with random bits of dirt, and the leisure centre’s changing rooms were grimy and thick with cobwebs!) Customer service felt really indifferent and quite bare-minimum. I truly think our expectations are low in this regard, we’re very self sufficient and don’t expect any special treatment! However, there was just something quite ‘off’ and I think staff in the restaurant and leisure centre could massively benefit from proper customer service training. This is an incredible destination and coming here should feel really special. Unfortunately I think there’s some fundamental details that need some care and attention from management. "

"Kamer was erg klein een kast is niet nodig omdad teweinig ruimte. Beter hangertjes en haakjes en plankjes ophangen. De badkamer erg klein vloer was geverfd geen tegels . Nade douchen vloer erg nat. Keuken is niet schoon . Personeel is erg aardig en behulpzame. "

"This was advertised as 3.75 miles from where I needed to be and after payment showed where it actually is! 3.75 miles across the water and a 4.5 hour road trip! Hotels.com declined to refund me. No doubt the hotel is lovely but the location description from hotels.com is atrocious."

"Unfortunately there was a problem with their kitchen and consequently no hot food was available. The “English Breakfast” was also cold and in fact a Continental Breakfast would have been a better description. That said, the room rate was extremely reasonable and the staff were excellent - providing both recommendations for dinner on the evening of arrival and then at breakfast, providing an itinerary of recommended stops for our journey up to Fort William."
