Agapi Beach Resort - Premium All Inclusive

Agapi Beach Resort - Premium All Inclusive

8/10 Good
"A beautifully maintained resort with great amenities, though room logistics could be smoother. Overall, the resort was beautiful and well-maintained. The location is convenient, with several shops and restaurants within walking distance. Most of the staff were helpful and welcoming, though a few felt slightly distant—perhaps due to a language barrier, as I do not speak Greek. Our stay had a rocky start when our reserved room wasn't available on the first night. I was placed in a bungalow and told it was an upgrade. However, once I moved into my actual reversed room the next day, I realized the reserved room was significantly better. It was modern, upgraded, and featured a wonderful view, whereas the bungalow's (room 654) view was largely blocked by a large tree. Additionally, the bathroom sink water had a strong, unpleasant odor throughout my entire stay. The dining experience was typical for a resort—a mix of great, average, and mediocre options. My friends and I dined at the main buffet and the Italian restaurant, enjoying both. They offered a wide variety of choices, and the bread, crepes, lamb, and drinks were personal highlights. The pool & beach areas were kept spotless, with attentive staff ensuring guests were comfortable. A special shoutout goes to the spa team, especially Erika and her colleague, who were incredibly friendly and kind while booking guests around the property. Tip: The bungalow featured an international converter outlet that should added to all rooms."

Peninsula Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

Peninsula Resort & Spa - All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent
"This property and resort is really a beautiful place. Looking off the cliff into the sea with beautiful sun rises and sunsets. The food was pretty good with lots of options. Beer and wine are always available at multiple locations. Some of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, others treat you a bit rude if you’re an American. If you’re looking for an all inclusive that has late night offerings this place might not be for you. Pools closed at 7pm, open bar at the pool is only open from 7-11 and everything is done by 11:15. Definitely a kid friendly spot as lots of families seemed to enjoy their time. The resort is located very close to Heraklion with easy access to the city. Would definitely recommend adventuring out. Would 100% stay here again"

Lyttos Beach - All Inclusive

10/10 Excellent
"We’ve stayed in a number of five star resorts, but this was one of the best ones! At first we thought it was maybe too big and crowded as we were in peak season, but actually the resort is so vast, with many pools and areas to sunbathe, that it never felt too crowded. The family rooms were a brilliant set up, meaning we could all be together. The entertainment and food was all excellent and varied with themed nights at the restaurant. The fitness classes were great- Vincent was so friendly and kept us motivated. The kids loved the waterpark too! All in all a brilliant family resort."

The best area to stay in Áno Kalésia is the village itself, particularly around the central square and the main road that runs through it.Áno Kalésia is a small, traditional Cretan village known for its peaceful environment and authentic local character. The main road, often referred to locally as the 'plateia' street, is where you'll find the kafeneion (traditional coffee shops) and a few small local shops. The village is set in a rural landscape, surrounded by olive groves, offering a sense of seclusion while still being conveniently located a short drive from Heraklion.Couples looking for a quiet retreat will find Áno Kalésia an excellent choice. It provides a relaxed setting away from the bustle of larger tourist hubs, allowing for peaceful evenings and leisurely mornings. You can enjoy walks through the olive groves or simply relax in a local kafeneion, experiencing genuine Cretan hospitality. For families, Áno Kalésia offers a lovely base for exploring the wider region. The crowds are also thinner than in the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at archaeological sites and beaches. This period offers a good balance of sunshine and comfortable conditions without the intense heat of July and August. For those who enjoy warmer weather and don't mind the bustling atmosphere, the peak summer months of July and August offer consistently hot and sunny days, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C (86°F).
