Good experience. Clean, close to transportation. Staff was very nice and pleasant. It is tight though, so when you shower take all of what you need in the shower.
It was quiet, cheap and a very spontaneous idea (2h before arrival), yet they made everything a unique experience with high quality service and a cool serving team!!
I look forward to come back!

I loooooved this hostal! Such a vibe! It’s great if your taking flix buses. Dora, Mateo and the owners were amazing! Will definitely stay here again!
Staff were really friendly and their best to address our needs. Bathroom, toilet, and common area was clean and it's perfectly located next to the flixbus station.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Cool experience. Nice staff and people. Tight quarters, but can’t beat for price and location.
Great place to stay if you dont mind small spaces. Amazing experience. Everyone was super friendly, felt safe amd clean. Right next to the train/bus station as well as the flexbus pickup location. 10/10
Amazing and unique experience. I don't get to sleep in a train hostel every day. It's also really well located since it's next to the train to the airport and city centre, the tram and the metro.
There's staff 24 hours so it was safe.
This property is very nice. Theres a restaurant as well as takeaway option. Located next to gas/truck stop. Slept well. Overall excellent!
Exception:
** I do not recommend staying here unless you have access to a car, or some mode of personal transport as it is far from everything if on foot!! closest train station (Lelystad Centrum) is a 25-30 minute drive with no bus available. Taxis/Uber very costly!
wonderful stay if your looking for something a bit different! had everything we could of ever needed and the stay were so lovely and helpful! will definitely stay again!!
Room was clean, the nostalgia of it all, and the amenities were up to par with each hostel (of the many) I've stayed in in Amsterdam. There could be a larger and cheaper option for food for those (including me) who are on a budget and/or don't want to go out nearby in the frigid cold (writing this January 24th, 2026, so.) Mr. Harry at the front and all the staff I've encountered have treated me SO much kinder and better than the last 3 hostels (it's a shame really, it's been insane) but this has felt somewhat healing which I need myself right now, and I'm sure someone reading this needs a respite too; we're all weathering some kind of storm silently right now just at different levels and stages. This Train Hostel is definitely the vibe if you wanna just dip from.the traditional tourist garbage and see AMSTERDAM (but no worries, you're not but 1min to bus station which can take you anywhere- including the famous Amsterdam spots some no doubt want to see. 17min bus ride downtown to heart of city, 19 to Red Light District. Definitely wish I'd found this cozy spot sooner,
Sleeping in a modified train is not something you do everyday so being able to experience it once was really cool.
Only downside was that i am not fitted for the top bed but still a nice stay
The vibe in this place is intermittent sometimes it is fantastic great pace to be in, then other times very irritating.
The narrowness off the carriageways becomes annoying as does the longer staying people.
Really like the idea.
However won’t be back.
The rooms are very tiny for 6 people. Had a bed in female only dorm.
Either tap in toilet was not working or the door could not be locked.
The receptionist came into the female only room late at night to show a new girl her bed without knocking on the door.
I wanted to say that my trip to Amsterdam Train Lodge hostel was absolutely fantastic. The staff were all very friendly. Sympathetic of my situation I found myself in on arrival, and communications before I left the UK, and after check out. The breakfast was out of this world, very tasty and set me up for the day. They were very knowledeable about from fares for public transport through to where the best attractions were. They couldnt do enough for you. Highly recommended, and if your a train spotter as I am, it was a trainspotters paradise!!

If you book this property through Expedia, they will make you pay twice the booking price as they say that you book only 1 bed (even if you book for 2 people and that the price for 2 people is similar to what is on their website). Do not book through Expedia! It's overall a nice place, but a scam for people who do not book on their own website. They do not let you know about it upon check-in but will most definitely take the money from your bank account!
Yes this is unique but the experience is not desirable.
The rooms are small and cluttered with cords and no place to store your belongings, you are not given a room key but are told.to rely on your roomates to have the receptionist lock it when they leave. There is 1 possibly 2 very small toilets on the train car that holds close to over 40 ppl. I was told that the room next to me was being paid for by the government so i assume its either for homeless, rehab or exCon which is fine except I paid more here than the usual hostel. The trains next door run until 1am and start up again at 7am. I woke up the 1st morning with very swollen eyes and bite bumps all over my face. There is 1 outlet with an extension cord per 3 bunks. When I did complain to the owner as I was running out the door he told me I should have gotten out of bed at 1:30am and told him about the fighting in the room next to me.
The receptionists are nice and helpful but im sure limited on what can be done.
Dont stay here unless its your last choice or you are young and dont care.
Mukava tunnelmallinen junamotelli, jossa asiakaspalvelu oli todella ystävällistä ja lähestyttävää. Jos matkailette budjetilla amsterdamissa voin suositella tätä.
