Hotel is clean and quiet. Our room was small but we did not spend much time there so not a problem. Front desk staff were very helpful. Conveniently located near stores and restaurants. Great coffee machine in the lobby, be aware coffee is free only at certain times.

The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean but in need of a little attention. The room was small but adequate and clean. It is located in a good area with restaurants nearby and everything you want to see is walkable.

The staff at Melrose hotel were wonderful! Very attention to detail oriented, I was very happy with their help along the way. Outside of the loose toilet seat and some stained towels that were quickly replaced. It was a fine experience staying there. The room is small so be prepared if you’re sharing a twin with two beds. But it’s definitely doable very cozy so make sure you like your travel partner. Would definitely stay again if I visit Amsterdam again.

The room is small. The frosted glass bathroom is kind of lack of privacy. The were WiFi issues for four days of our 6 nights stay. However, the staffs were very friendly.

I stayed with my adult daughter! Great location-we could walk everywhere! Loved everything about it! Very clean and staff was great! Beautiful area- I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!

Hotel Melrose is in a great location to look around as a tourist. It’s right in the middle of the Jordaan area and in the canals. Super close to viral food spots like Maijard Smashburger, Chun, Polaberry and a short walk into the centre and different areas. Hotel itself is good, really friendly staff. It needs to be clarified by Expedia that there is tourist tax to pay and it is not included in the price you are paying. Also there are no windows in the rooms. Only a ventilation system so the rooms are quite stuffy and you can’t get any fresh air. As a person who doesn’t like AC, this was a bit annoying. But other than that, the stay was good.

The location of this hotel is great for travelers that want to be in the picturesque Jordaan area with the canals. The staff were very friendly and the room was modern and clean. I appreciate that they have a coffee machine free of charge for guests.

The front desk took about 10 minutes before anyone showed up. There was also a wet spot on the floor near my bed. There are also panels that basically cover all of the window, so there’s so view. It felt like a basement even though I was on floor 2. I needed it for only one night. I’ve had worse hotels and experiences. I would go again only for the price, but not longer than one night

This hotel bills its rooms as "suites." They are NOT. Perfectly acceptable hotel rooms, perhaps a touch larger than some European city-center hotels, but definitely not suites. Handy to 2 groceries, lots of bars & restaurants & takeout places within two blocks. Superb staff was very helpful. Half hour walk to the train station, or 10 minutes to a tram stop that goes to the train station. Wheelchair accessible IF you can use a regular bathroom.

Super friendly staff! Nice room, a bit strange layout with the sink ”in” the room and not in the bathroom. Piping is not insulated so you will hear other rooms flushing and running the water....but that is not a deal breaker and I would definitely come back for another stay....all you ppl giving them a low rating has probably been at the subterain rooms and the most inexpensive rooms that can offer....you get what you pay for and this is not any different!

Conveniently located on a busy street, good base to explore Amsterdam. It was recommended by a friend who lives nearby. Amenities are passable, not great. Comfy bed, attentive staff, safe, although the police showed up after drunken guests destroyed a room. The room layout was bizarre, a tiny sink in the bedroom not the bathroom. Has an elevator. My frank opinion is that it’s overpriced for the amenities. No food service, no freezer available to store medications for example, grocery store nearby, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Neighborhood is ok, not beautiful, overall just meh. We would not stay there again. But the staff were very kind and helpful. Parking is 10 minutes walking distance away at a cost of $50 per day.

We really enjoyed a 2-night stay at the Melrose. It was conveniently located to walk to the city center for us, but could be far for others. It’s close to Anne Frank house and a ton of restaurants/cafes. It was clean, fairly basic but just what we needed. Lobby area and staff were nice. Only complaint is the shower water gets everywhere because there is only a tiny glass panel, even with the shower pointing towards the wall. Other people had mentioned the size of the bathroom and it is small, but it was the water that frustrated us the most. Also, the frosted glass door for the bathroom was mentioned by others and I’d agree that there isn’t much privacy depending on who you are sharing with! Overall easy location to the city!

Great location, clean, and nice staff. The coffee machine in lobby awesome. Beds comfy. Quiet and great sleep. Only not living the lack of privacy with bathroom- toilet/ shower frosted glass, and was mom traveling with teen boys… but still great place to stay!

Decent hotel in a very nice part of the city. Very easy to get around and plenty of dining options and grocery store nearby. The elevator did not always work and the bathroom is very small (with the sink in the living area). But overall it was good value for money.

The only real good thing about this hotel is the location to be honest. I've stayed here twice now because of last minute trips to amsterdam, I didn't particularly like my stay the first time but I thought I'd give it another shot as last time I got a room with 0 windows. This time My room had a tiny skylight and a window into the corridor with other guests walking past with a curtain I had to keep shut for privacy. The room smelled a bit like drains and someone even walked into my room in the middle of the afternoon when I was napping. Quite weird and unsettling. I dont think it was housekeeping it looked like another guest. I always think an average hotel is fine for one night if you feel safe but that didnt make me feel safe at all and made the averagness of it all feel not worth saving some money on.
