"Comfortable, accessible, clean"
Everything works as it should. Free bottles of water provided (not common in Japan). The room was small, just a little more than the length and width of the bed. But that's the norm in Japan. It's easy to find. There are some odd establishments in the neighborhood - but not troublesome in anyway. Also lots of eating options all around the hotel. Short walk from Ueno station, which is one of the tpt hubs in Tokyo. The breakfast buffet was a bit sparse in terms of options. And far too many machines to deal with early in the morning - separate ones for water, coffee, juice etc. It's a bit like children pretending they're on a spaceship.

"Cute homely hotel by nezu station "
The staff were great from check in through to check out, everything has been considered for the guests, there is even a pay phone in the lounge area and maps etc. So it's definitely travel friendly and kid friendly too. There is a very cute cafe downstairs for breakfast lunch or dinner, where you can have a freshly cooked meal before you head out. And the nearest metro station is only a 3minute walk away from the hotel! The location is actually amazing if you like to be somewhere accessible, busy but not on the main road, as its tucked away in a residential area about 15-20minute walk from the busy Ueno! There are tonnes of restaurants near the hotel towards Nezu station with convenience stores less than a minute away and bars where you can go for a beer after a long day. Our stay was amazing, staff again are very helpful and facilities provide you with everything you need and more, to relax and enjoy your holiday! Definitely recommend it for anyone unsure where to stay or wants to stay in Ueno area!

Decent hotel, worth the price. Pretty much what you'd expect from a 'business hotel'. Staff doesn't speak much English.

"Walking distance to train station."
This hotel was a long walk or short train ride to plenty of tourist sites. The breakfast was OK but not worth the money.

"Very nice location"
The staff at Mitsui-Garden Ueno were a pleasure to work with and extremely courteous. The room was well laid out for the size. The hotel is very easy to get to because upon arrival at Ueno station, exit the main entrance and look left. Ueno park is within a 15 minute walk and so is the shopping district. Wish I had more time to explore the surrounding areas.

"Nice-sized rooms"
We had requested a non-smoking room, but received a smoking room that had gotten "extra cleaning." It was OK, although there was a slight smoke smell.

Pocket Guide: Tokyo Ueno 3 stars Hotels

This area offers a glimpse of what life was like before the economic boom of the 1970s and 1980s. Neighboring Asakusa, it is best known for the Ameya-yokocho Arcade, a busy market with interesting stalls. Ueno-koen, a sprawling park with monuments, zoo, pagodas, and a pond, is a must-do. Museums and galleries abound in the area.
