"Great location"
I choose the Handlery hotel due to its ratings and location from where we conducting business. It was very convenient to be so close to Market Street. We were also close to many shops and restaurants and could easily pick up a street car if we wanted to travel further out.

"Great location, friendly and helpful staff. "
We stayed for 3 nights - family of 4, kids aged 4 and 8. Was a great place to be based and staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is really nice - have stayed in many boring hotels and this isn't one of them.

"Beautiful historic building"
This hotel was beautiful and it was a good location to catch the BART to and from the Airport. The hotel is located in an area where you will see some homeless people but pretty much all of SF is like that so please do not let that deter you from checking out this beautiful building. It is also very close to City Hall/Civic Centre which is a stop for our Hop on/Hop off Tour Bus Company with City Sightseeing Tours which made things very convenient. The "Local Diner" located across the street and a couple of doors down from Sam's Diner was absolutely amazing. The place is not fancy at all but the staff was extremely friendly and the food was delicious and fast service. We ate there for the rest of the week!!

"Nice older hotel"
This hotel is in the heart of the old business district. The rooms were nice and the beds were very comfortable. Given the noise in this part of the city, the room was quiet.

"Friendly staff!"
I only stayed there for one night. The beds are absolutely comfortable! I just wish they had more parking, and cheaper parking. I had already paid for my stay and on top I paid almost 40 dollars for my car to stay in the hotel's parking overnight. Overall, it's a nice place with very friendly staff members.

"Modern rooms in the heart of town"
Spent the weekend here for the cherry blossom festival which was about a 20 minute walk. They were able to accommodate my 11 pm check in, staying in touch via text. Someone was there to show me to my room. The building is old with a small elevator but the rooms are new, clean, and modern inside which impressed me. Bathroom was spotless with a shower. There's also another sink in the room and a fridge and microwave. I got a room on the third floor facing Van Ness so there was noise from the street. This is typical of many hotels in SF of this kind though they could have invested in better sound insulation on the windows. At least there were curtains that blocked light from the street.

It was a good stay even though the fire alarm went off. San Francisco was just 10-15 minute train ride away. Train stop was walking distance.
