"Highly Recommended"
Great Hotel in a beautiful location so peaceful and tranquil. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here and we were extremely happy with our choice. The staff were very pleasant and the service was great. They accommodated all our needs very well and it was just beautiful coming into our room at night, with a special surprise on our bed with the bed pulled back for sleeping. Highly recommended.

"A little tired but satisfied overall."
The pool is tired and needs refurbishing. The pool during the dry (winter) months needs heating as the sea was warmer. We were happy with the stay, as we knew the hotel was showing its age before we booked. The cost of room service is expensive.

"The Jewel in the crown"
Two nights at what looked, on line, like a beautiful hotel was going to be the splurge late in our 10 day budget, mostly self catered exploration of the Cairns to Cooktown coast. We,re so glad we did. The Thala has to be the best place to stay if like us you're looking for natural and real. The rooms are beautiful , though we were a little envious of the tree top ocean view options. The whole complex is blended into the environment as unobtrusively as possible. Loved the swimming pool. Cant give the food 10 out of 10 but its not far off, and the dining room with its view out over the Coral Sea makes up for it. Great staff, cocktail bar, beach walks, etc. Thanks for the memories guys.

"Convenient to beach, shopping and cafe"
Prior to our stay I was able to organise a transfer from the airport to the hotel with a quick email, the process was seamless. My sister and I stayed in a Spa room, small but adequate. The facilities were great. We took advantage of the in house Spa. The front of house staff could have been more attentive, seemed to be going the the motions. I cannot comment on the food as we dined out- great selection
