This hotel was perfect for us, lots of cosy places to chat, have a drink or bar meal, we even had a pub quiz on the sunday evening in the bar which was great. The breakfast was excellent All staff very nice. The room was very clean and comfortable, We will definitely be here again.
Arrived early morning after long flight from australia and were told that a room would be ready soon for us and in the meantime to have a complimentary breakfast while we waited. The dining room staff were so friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was to your satisfaction. Many thanks to the managers Owen and Nicola who made our stay so enjoyable. We would definetly stay here again.
A most friendly and welcoming guest house that felt just like an old family home. It is ideally situated as a base for wandering around town or attending the Opera House. Breakfast was personalised and delicious, furthermore served with just the right amount of attentiveness. Room was a great size, immaculately presented, with an enormous bed, and a perfectly good en-suite shower room. The proprietor goes out of her way to make you feel like nothing would be too much trouble. Highly recommended if you like the guest-house experience.
From the start to leaving the Hotel we felt at ease with the very friendly owners and staff. The beer was great, evening meal was excellent and the breakfast was of quality food. A nice touch in the bedroom was a glass of sherry and a sweet. Well done for making our experience very enjoyable. Peter & Maureen

We had a standard room, but the quality of furnishings and view felt more premium. Breakfast was served in a gorgeous room with rural views and was prompt. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.
The welcome was warm and genuine, the room was really comfortable, no airs and graces, but you can tell a lot of thought and care has been taken to ensure guests have everything that is needed. Very comfortable bed and pillows etc. We slept very soundly. Chinley is not a regular tourist trap, just a chilled village. The cooked breakfast was excellent and we got to choose exactly what went into it (so no wastage!). The coffee was excellent. We had a couple of meals in the Old Hall Inn during our stay. They surpassed expectations of pub food. The menu has nothing fancy on it, just excellent fresh ingredients. Steak was perfectly cooked. Fish and Chips included very fresh haddock and crisp and crunchy batter. Great selection of ale, great service.
My partner and I were lucky enough to get the last room available on a rainy Saturday. The unique decor, friendly staff and beautiful Labradors all served to make it a night to remember! We had a huge plate of sausage and mash each and it was excellent and reasonably priced. The ale is tasty and service first class. We will be going back.
