"Nice hotel centrally located."
We only stayed one night during our recent vacation but we found this hotel to be quite nice. It's located on a main thoroughfare but they put us on the 6th floor on the side so there was no traffic noise at all. Very friendly staff, great breakfast included in the rate, and it looked like the hotel had been recently renovated. Everything looked new! Within easy walking distance to the Duomo Cathedral and its upscale shopping area. Our room was small (as were all our rooms in Europe) but very modern and comfortable. Only negative was the $26 Euro for overnight parking, but that is pretty standard when you have a car and stay "in town". We would definitely stay here again.

"Hotel close to subway"
The hotel was close the train station, and subway line. This made it easy to find. It was very clean, and located near nice stores. We would stay there again.

"Smallest problem was the internet"
I loved staying at this little hotel ... The staff were totally amazing, friendly and attentive. My only criticism ... PLEASE fix the Internet ... It took am almost an hour to book a flight with only one seat left ... I kept getting disconnected ... Another guest was trying to Skype and just as frustrated ... As well the Internet only worked in the lobby and every time I used it it seemed I needed a new password.

"Perfect position, everything we could want"
This hotel was recommended in the Rough Guide so when there was just one room available for our dates, at short notice. I snapped it up - and we were glad we did. Yes, it lacks a bit of character but the upside of that is that the facilities and furnishings are very modern, and spotless. And yes, it's on a main road and is a bit noisy from the trams - but the obvious upside of that is that the trams are very close. However, the best thing is the position, and it isn't necessary to use public transport at all for the main sights. The rooms are a bit small, but the price is very reasonable for a city-centre hotel. The staff are very helpful and the breakfast buffet is varied and served in a very pleasant room, though our only slight quibble is that the coffee, orange juice and croissants are are usually better in Italian restaurants (but again, it's reasonably priced). The hotel doesn't do evening meals, but there is a superb restaurant next door that does - we went there for each of our five evenings! There is also, unusually for a city-centre 3-star hotel we think, a very pleasant bar. There is a charge for wifi but at least one nearby café has free wifi.

"Great alternative with easy access to downtown"
We stayed two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the facilities, cleanliness and the hotel restaurant (good option if you don't feel like going out for dinner after hours walking the city attractions...). The hotel supplies a shuttle service to the nearest subway station, so you can easily get to the Piazza dei Duomo in 20 minutes, without having to pay the high prices of hotels closer tho the touristic areas.

"beautiful building with lovely rooms"
Lovely stay in wonderful building. for some nights there was only the four of us staying. When there were other guests we never saw or heard them. Lovely attentive staff and good, fresh breakfast, served by great guy. No bar available when we arrived and we did not ask again. Expensive taxi rides from here as they have to come from central Milan before meter starts. 25 minutes walk from station if the bus service has finished for the day. Small town where no British tourists, good, friendly bars in close proximity.

"Excellent hotel for City Break"
A good balance between location and price along with excellent standards. You do need to be mobile otherwise the city centre would be difficult to get to without taxis. I thought the location was perfect and easy to get to the centre on public transport (very cheap especially using 24/48 hr tkts). The rooms were really clean and everything was very organised. Breakfast excellent with much choice and relaxed. For the price this really is outstanding.

    Where to stay in Milan?

As Italy's second largest city, and a hub for designers, photographers, and artists, Milan is one of the creative centers of Europe, and for many represents the capital of design and fashion. Milan offers a high-end shopping experience that takes in top Italian designers and world-famous brands. The city has the world's oldest shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in the Piazza Duomo, and a wealth of fashion and jewellery shops along Via Montenapoleone, in the Quadrilatero della Moda fashion district.

    Romans to Renaissance

Modern Milan may conjure up images of fashion houses and boutiques, but if the urge to shop until you drop should desert you, it's worth remembering that the city's history, which dates back to 400 BC, is all around you. As capital of the Western Roman Empire, a medieval center of trade, and later under periods of French, Austrian, and Spanish control, Milan's history is long and varied and the city sights are a testament to its importance across the centuries.

A guided Milan city tour will take you through the city's key points of historical interest including Castello Sforzesco, a former palatial residence now open to the public as a museum and art gallery, the imposing gothic cathedral Il Duomo, and La Scala theater. The tour also takes in a viewing of Leonardo da Vinci's 'The Last Supper', viewable only by appointment and housed in the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

While Milan is rich in Renaissance, Gothic, and Baroque works of art (the Brera Art Gallery alone brings together Italian masterpieces from the 14th century to the modern day), this artistic center looks towards the future and contemporary art exhibitions are held in PAC (Padiglione Arte Contemporanea) and CIMAC (Civico Museo Arte Contemporanea).

    Eating and drinking

Milan has a profusion of restaurants offering cuisine from all over the world; brunch is big news in Milan and the nightlife in this eclectic city starts early, with hundreds of bars and clubs to suit every taste. The essential Milanese ritual of happy hour is a famously loosely applied term, and between the hours of 6 PM and 9.30 PM most clubs offer drinks, cocktails, and buffet food at reduced prices. The majority of clubs can be found in the Porta Romana, Porta Ticinese, and Navigli regions of the city, but excellent food and drink are never far away. Getting around Milan is easy too, with a public transport system that includes three subway lines, trains, buses, and an extensive network of trams.

    Explore Lombardy

Beyond the city itself, the glacial Lake Como, the third largest lake in Italy and one of the deepest in Europe, is celebrated for its beauty and tranquillity. Take a day coach tour of the lake and the historical center of Como, explore the scenery, and visit one of the many silk factories.
