Bed and Breakfast in Whitchurch-on-Thames

"We stayed in a standard double room, which was spacious, very clean, with a super comfortable bed! I slept like a log! The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a swim in the pool, which although small, was excellent for swimming lengths and was a nice temperature. We ate at the restaurant, which served pub grub and was very tasteful. So why not 5 stars? The toilet in the room was separate to the shower and bath, and also the sink. It would have been nice to have a little sink in the toilet, as in the night you had to feel around for 2 rooms! There was no room service at all. There was a page on the app but in the restaurant the server told us you'd have to order downstairs and take the food up yourself. Most concerning, the pool was unmanned. No one was in that area at all. We had to sign a waver form before using it, so don't use the pool on your own. There was a panic pull outside the sauna but if you had an accident or you needed help away from the pull cord, I'm not sure how long it would be before someone found you.Lastly, there is a small amount of parking on site but you need to phone in advance to book this at £21. Overall a lovely hotel and we would stay here again."

"Now one of favourite hotels in uk. Staff made a special effort for my partners birthday and hotel and grounds are stunningly beautiful. Spa was great as was the food. Probably the tastiest sole I've had. Eating out in uk is too expensive nowadays but this was worth it"

"Excellent staff, very helpful and polite. The only problem I had was that drawing the curtains in my room was very challenging as the rings on the curtain pole didn’t glide smoothly and you had to wrench the curtain closed and open. Food was excellent and the room was quiet overlooking a peaceful garden. A good 4 out of 5."

"Couldn’t check in early because I didn’t receive the text message , I only had the itinerary / booking number and it wasn’t being aacceoted for self check in - it was unfortunate, my daughter wasn’t feeling well but gladly waited with me for an hour until we can be checked in. It’s better to book directly with the official website as it speeds up the check in process - witnessed a good number of people able to access their rooms early because of this. We got directions to our lodge, which was great. The shower was clean but when we closed the bathroom door, there were hairs and the floor was wet behind it . In the end, the bed was comfy and we just needed a clean enough space to rest and stay for the night,"

"The staff were so helpful and pleasant. We checked in early, the room was lively and clean, the water hot, the bed so comfortable! East to get to the city. Would stay here again!"

"I stayed for one night. The clean was poor specially the sink. No shower gel was provided, so it was good that I brought mine. The room was for 2 adults and one child, and I only had 2 towels. The worst part of all was the smelly of smoke and weed. It was so strong that it was like someone had smoked in the room. I had to open the window to be able to sleep."

"The staff were so friendly, so helpful--ordering us a taxi, explaining about the Oxford Bus to Heathrow, etc. The concept of turning a prison into a hotel--wow! Our room was fabulous. The whole setting and what has been done with this enormous golden stone building is so imaginative and fun. Great location for walking/shopping in Oxford. Close to everything."
