The best area to stay in Walton is along the beachfront, particularly near the pier and the High Street.

This area is the heart of Walton's visitor experience, offering direct access to the sandy beach and the pier, which is a major landmark. The High Street runs parallel to the beach just a short walk inland and is where you'll find most of the local shops, cafes, and restaurants. It's a very convenient and pleasant area for a coastal holiday.

Couples often find this area ideal for a relaxing seaside getaway. You can enjoy strolls along the promenade, take in the sea views from your accommodation, and easily access evening meals just a short walk away. The proximity to the beach means you can spend your days by the sea without needing to travel far.

Families with children will also appreciate staying close to the beach and pier. The pier offers traditional seaside entertainment, and the expansive sandy beach provides plenty of space for playing and building sandcastles.

While Walton is a lovely destination year-round, the best time to visit for most travellers seeking pleasant weather and a full experience is from late spring to early autumn, specifically May through September.

During these months, the weather is generally mild and agreeable, great for enjoying the coastline and outdoor activities. You'll find longer daylight hours, which means more time to explore the Walton Pier, stroll along the promenade, or relax on the beach. Many of the local shops, cafes, and attractions are fully operational during this peak season.

Families often find the summer months of July and August particularly appealing. The sea is at its warmest, making it ideal for swimming and watersports, and there are often family-friendly events and entertainment scheduled. However, it's also the busiest time, so expect more people and be sure to book your accommodation and any popular activities well in advance.

For those who prefer a quieter visit with comfortable temperatures, May, June, and September are excellent choices. The crowds are typically smaller, and you can still enjoy all that Walton has to offer without the peak season hustle.
