All buses terminate at Valetta bus station and timetables/ bus stands are clearly marked. The dhow style ferry to Sliema is cute, fast ferry to Gozo good. Many historic buildings, St John Cathedral stunning, daily firing of cannons. A lot of traffic.

There are so many things to go and see in Valletta. Lot's of quirky bars, lots of restaurants including plenty with a Michelin link (without crazy prices too). Would recommend the 'Malta experience', you'll learn so much about the islands history.

We took the bus to the ferry to Comino. Try and get a speedboat type boat, rather than the bigger ferry! On our last day, we took the ferry to the Three Cities, had an explore and lunch, then a traditional Maltese boat tour of the harbour back.

Really enjoyed Valletta. I had been advised to stay in St. Julians which I did for 3 nights, followed by 2 nights in Gozo and 2 nights in Valletta. Valletta was far and away the best location. Lots of history and very walkable (despit the hills).
"I've stayed in many different 5 star hotels on the island but this hotel really was the best of all. The only thing i would like to improve is the quality of their breakfast. It wasn't too my liking but everything else was a tip notch. "
"La Falconeria is sitiauted in an exellent position to be quiet but within an easy walkable distance to central Valletta. The hotel was spotlessly clean and all the staff were very polite and friendly. Special thanks to Patricia for quickly sorting out an issue when we first arrived. Breakfast was all delicious with plenty of options and the restaurant was run with great efficiency"
"This hotel was exceptional! The service was impeccable and the location 10/10! The staff was amazing as well! Kudos to Yuliia!!! She was so knowledgeable and helpful for everything we needed! "The only thing I would say in terms of improvements is perhaps to better train the staff at breakfast. The supervisor was good but no one proactively came and asked for coffee/tea orders. The staff were nice, no question, I just think they could be better trained to be more attentive to the visitors. It felt like they had been trained to be attentive to the table cleanliness only (which is obviously a good thing!)
My other observation is that in the evenings the restaurant receives visitors who want to Instagram photos of the beautiful view but the people doing it don’t really consider their impact to the people trying to have a quiet meal right next to their photo taking. It would be good if staff could move the Instagrammers on to a quieter area to allow diners to enjoy their meals and the view in peace.

"My first day walking in I had some issues prior to entering the capital and the staff where very comforting and considerate that they allowed me to check in earlier they were extremely considerate because I had no sleep at prior to arriving. "Wonderful 3-night stay at Palais Le Brun 🌟 Firstly, the staff at this hotel are AMAZING. Super friendly, attentive, and would do anything they can for you. We spent some time relaxing in the rooftop pool, having drinks at the bar, etc, and Fatima in particular is a credit to the hotel. First class service from her 👏
Our room was lovely, quiet, and clean. Lovely breakfast, amenities were great - including the gym. It's not huge, but it gives you everything you need to get a workout done 🏃♀️
