Reach for the stars, walk in the clouds and explore the depths of the ocean from the tallest self-supporting tower in the world.

In 2012, Tokyo made world news when visitors flocked to the opening of the tallest tower on the planet. Standing at 634 metres, Skytree is twice as high as the Eiffel Tower and gives unrivalled views of Tokyo’s cityscape and beautiful surrounding environment. Poets and artists across the centuries have looked to Mount Fuji for inspiration, and from Skytree you can take a moment to gaze on its symmetrical, snow-capped cone from a unique perspective.Anywhere you go in Tokyo, the pinnacle of Skytree is visible, rising proudly above every other building, illuminated with blue or purple lights against the night sky. You cannot and should not miss it. At the base of the tower, Skytree Town is where the journey begins and there is plenty to see even before the ride up into the clouds. The Solamachi shopping complex here hosts hundreds of shops and restaurants, as well as a vast aquarium and planetarium. There are even more places to eat on top of the nearby Skytree East Building. Leaving the ground level at Skytree Town, an elevator speeds visitors high up to the Skytree Tembo Deck at 350 metres. Here, high in the sky you can find unrivalled views across Tokyo, with all the landmarks and life of the city spread at your feet. At this level, there is also a gift shop, café and the Sky Restaurant 634, serving a fusion of Japanese and French cuisines. Taking a giant glass tube from Skytree Tembo Deck to Skytree Tembo Galleria, you can ascend even higher. A spiralling walkway lets you travel upwards around the tower and into the sky. From this height, there are simply astounding views across Tokyo and even down to the street level through a glass floor. Built as a broadcast tower for radio and television near to Tokyo’s Asakusa area, Skytree can be reached by subway or bus. The best time to visit is of course on a day with clear weather.
