Dear Keith Thank you for your review. I appreciate your comments. You had originally booked Suite 3 and we upgraded you free of charge to Suite 2, which was a larger Suite, which you thanked us for upon arrival. The Kitchenette to Suite 2 is not shared with any other guests, it is your personal kitchenette away from our other suites, just outside your door in a Private nook. We gave you complimentery Bottled Water, A Cheese and Cracker Platter and large Block of Whittakers Chocolate, extensive Toileteries, Slippers, far more than we ever receive when we travel. So unsure why you would also expect a free bottle of wine. Our decorative flowers are silks, not plastic. We are infact a Lodge as all the Guest side of our Lodge is for guests, B&B's share the home with the owners, lounge/dining room etc, We have a designated Enterence, Lounge, Dining Room etc. The closest Lake Bay is in fact a 5 minute walk. I am guessing you are referring to Acacia Bay, which is a 10 minute walk. I am sorry you had to cut your stay short, only staying 1 night rather than the 3 you had booked. I feel the negative comments are based on the fact you were charged for 1 night as per our cancellation policy.You were in fact the only guests for the night of your stay, so am unsure how you shared the balcony or your kitchenette with any other guests. We do thank you however for the positive comments you noted. Steve and I are very dedicated to ensuring all our guests are exceptionally well looked after and you and your wife were extremely happy with everything until you needed to shorten your stay and realised a cancellation fee would apply. That is a shame as I feel this has tainted a true review.

Dear Valerie It has been sometime since I emailed you with regards to your review and have given great thought to your review. I have also reaserched when you booked our Suite 1. Our Lake front, veranda Suites 2,3 and 4 were all available for you to book, but you chose our Suite 1, which is not advertised as a large Suite, nor is it advertised as having a TV as our other Suites are, so I can only asume you booked on price. Our entire property has free internet and you never once advised you could not connect or we would have assisted you to connect. This Suite is not advertised as having an en-suite like all our others, it is advertised as having a Private Seperate Bathroom. Yes there is a Kitchenette, for Suite 1 and 2, equiped with toaster, microwave, kettle, Nespresso Machine, crockery, minibar and cutlery and more. Not entirely sure what your point was on this one. Your reply to my email stated that if I had given you a refund then perhaps you may have been more compassionate with your review. So I am sorry, but we did not and you have written this review out of spite, in my view. You commented what a wonderful Breakfast we provide, what a beautiful property we have and wished us all the very best when you checked out. Yes the views from your Suite do over look the driveway, which is very attractive as our pictures show, also our lovely gardens and the side window overlooks the gardens and Lake Taupo, which you omitted to mention. We have a beautiful Guest Lounge that you could have enjoyed if you wished more space, tables and chairs around our veranda overlooking the lake etc, so to say you were claustrophobic is a very unusual comment. If we had not had a full house we would have very happily upgraded you, but unfortunately we were. You did not mention the lovely cheese and cracker platter, lge bar of chocolate, extensive toileteries, robes
