Located on the edge of Lake Broadway, Broadway at the Beach is a vast entertainment complex offering something for everyone.
Original built as a cinema complex in 1996, Broadway at the Beach has rapidly developed to incorporate a whole host of other attractions alongside its original cinema and IMAX Theatre. With its choice of attractions, it comes as no surprise that the centre attracts millions of visitors each year.
You could easily spend well over a day here. Because of the scale of the site, comfortable footwear is essential as you will be doing a lot of walking! With so many attractions based indoors, it’s also the perfect place to head to on a rainy day.
There are different themed areas such as Heroes Harbour and the Caribbean Village. Other attractions of note include the fascinating Ripley’s Aquarium and the fantasy world of MagiQuest, which is based on live action role-playing games.
Most of the areas are self-contained in that they offer shops and restaurants alongside the attractions. Many of the shops are independent and offer an excellent selection of gifts and souvenirs. The centre is open until late at night when the focus shifts to Celebrity Square, which is when the late night entertainment comes to life.
You also have plenty of choice when it comes to catering. From coffee bars to sweet shops, there is something to suit most tastes. Likewise, with restaurants such as Planet Hollywood and The Hard Rock Café, there is something for everyone.
A short drive heading east from downtown Myrtle Beach, the centre is easily accessible and offers free parking on site. The Myrtle Beach Connector bus also stops here. Entry to Broadway on the Beach is free although the individual attractions charge varying entry prices.
