"Lovely people, food and stay. The location is out of this world and take the time to visit the hot tubs on property.
Side note: if you’re not staying in one of the ocean front rooms, I probably wouldn’t pay the price. "

"Our cabin was fabulous, the in room coffee was sparse and weak and staff is difficult to find to ask for more coffee for our cabin. Not being able to communicate to staff (phone) is a pain in the neck. The front desk staff has NO knowledge about anything in the camp and was not able to answer any questions about anything. We had questions about the campfire talk that takes place at 8:30 pm on Saturday nights and if we could park in the day use area for this event but front desk staff knew nothing about it nor about if the day use parking would be open at that time. Upon arrival on Thursday, there was no parking due to an event happening at the lodge - when we asked if we could park up by the cabins or the pool until check-in we were told we were not allowed to do so."
"The River House is as advertised, well appointed, clean, comfortable beds, peaceful with a hot tube and the sound of a river which you can walk down too. It was much further away in terms of time than I expected. Although not too far in terms of distance, the road to the house is VERY twisty, and since we were in a rental car, took it slowly, easily taking an hour or more to and from Monterey. That was a big chunk of the day. "

"My wife and I chose to stay at the amazingly breathtaking property for our Anniversary in Big Sur, and cannot say enough good things about it. If you are looking for a soothing, calm getaway from the hustle and flow of daily life, you will find it here in Big Sur. From the gorgeous house with tons of natural light, to the beautiful garden and gigantic citrus trees, you with feel better almost instantly once you arrive. The claw footed cast iron soaking tub is exactly what the doctor ordered for relaxation, and both Sunrise and Sunset are something to behold here. Stop searching, this is the place you are looking for. "
"This is an above and beyond home. Every detail is meticulous, not ostentatious but lovely, warm and inviting. The bed was the most comfortable ever, the kitchen was insanely equipped with everything you could possibly imagine, the grounds were immaculate, the hot tub was wonderful and it was one big playground for kids to explore and revel in! And the hosts could not have been nicer and more communicative and accommodating! This is definitely a place I want to come back to again and again! I can't say enough god things! I just wish there were enough beds to come back with friends because it's so spacious (I understand that's a Carmel thing, not the host choice.)"
