"This was a beautiful property. Everything was clean, updated, and easy to find. The host left a very helpful instructional booklet describing how to use all of the amenities, and even instructions on how to best prepare the food. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we would love to stay here again!!"

"Wonderful Stay in Hakone!
The property is in a super convenient location, just a short walk to Hakone Yumoto shopping street, with two convenience stores nearby. There’s also a parking space available. The property itself is new, clean, and well-organized, with a cozy modern Japanese design that makes you feel instantly relaxed. Facilities are excellent, including a Dyson hairdryer and a Bruno hot pot cooker. If you’d like to have a BBQ, just let the host know in advance. The host is very...

"The house was difficult to find and, as mentioned, had a steep hill to walk down. When we entered, it smelled strongly of gas as there were 3 gasoline jars directly inside the door. The smell gave all four of us a headache. Also, it was VERY cold, due to missing windows. The heaters were set at max and we were still very cold. Lastly, the floors are not stable. In the dining room, it felt like we were walking on cardboard, as the floor flexed and moved when we walked. "

"The staff were nice and friendly, the room was a bit on the older side, but it was very large and japanese style with the beautiful view of the mountains.
The only downside was the distance of the hotel from the station. We had to walk for a long time with a carry on as it only showed 15 min walk on google map, but we ended up walking for well over 25 min and it was very steep. I guess we had to get a taxi.

"The hospitality at Yusakaso was absolutely stellar. Extremely clean, gracious staff, delicious presentable breakfast and dinner served in-room. The Japanese-style bed was comfortable, and my room was spacious.
There is one outdoor mixed-gender onsen which becomes women-only from 20:00-21:00 (8-9pm) and two indoor onsens for women-only and two for men-only. Each day, guests can reserve the private onsen for 30 minutes. There are 3 hotel rooms with private open-air onsens.
Please note the hotel rooms without private onsens do not include showers, so you will need to shower in the shared gendered shower rooms. (You use these same showers before getting into the onsen.)
The hotel was easy to locate. It is a 16 minute walk up-hill from Hakone-Yumoto station. I would recommend bringing only light luggage if possible. There is a bus that takes passengers from the hotel to the train station at 9:40am for 200¥.
The hotel provides mosquito repellent machines, make sure you use them if you are susceptible. My first night I was bit all over my face and arms before learning about the machine.
Overall, I had the most wonderful and relaxing stay at Yusakaso. My experience was very needed after surviving the rush of Tokyo!"
"I had a great stay at Hakone Airu, but I want to highlight that the staff is incredible and they do anything in their power for people to feel welcome. I had forgotten something at the hotel and they shipped it to my next location in Tokyo immediately - really appreciate their promptitudine!"
"Clean and spacious room, the breakfast and kaiseki dinner was excellent, traditional japanese cooking and Michelin-star like presentation.
Very pleasant staff, Ari and all the others, too.
Respectuous, friendly and ready to help.
The onsen was a great experience.
We had a great time and highly recommend this hotel."
"The Taeikan was in a perfect location for getting to the train station and to visit the shops in the area. The food was exceptional!!!!The ambiance was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the onsen. Our hostess was new to Japan and to Yaeikan, but she surpassed any of our expectations. She was excellent!!!
I highly recommend Yaeikan!"
