"Stayed here for our honeymoon and loved it so much we extended our stay. The hotel is so lovely, very clean and friendly staff. We specifically liked that its a smaller hotel so it never felt crowded and we never had an issue with getting a poolside lounger, etc. It’s one street north of the beach area so still very close to shopping, etc. "

"This was our first visit to Maui and it couldn't have been better. The house was perfect for us (married couple), had a little kitchen, small bath and two bedrooms. The house was very clean, everything was in working order and the host was lovely. The neighborhood is between Wailea and Kihei -- so minutes to snorkeling, restaurants, everything. Incredible pool (!) that was warm enough to use in early October by just walking right in.I would say this house would be good for a couple, a couple with children or two couples, since there's two bedrooms and only one bath. This is a shared property (a cottage that shares a space with the main house), so the owner may be in the vicinity. This was fine for us, but sometimes a person may want complete privacy on vacation. The owner is lovely and has the sweetest little pup that we encouraged to visit us. If we didn't ask them to visit, we would've never known they were there.Be aware, it's Maui and hot, so it does take a little time to cool off the house if a/c is off, so plan accordingly. We did, never had an issue. For example, when we got home, we'd turn on the a/c and the house would be ready for us after we returned from the pool.All in all, I can't say one negative comment about this property. In fact, I'd go back in a heartbeat. Any issue we had (WiFi wasn't working when we first arrived) was remedied by the owner within minutes. She was very attentive, even gave recommendations and loaned us snorkel fins. 5/5 stars!"

"Auntie Kali's Cottage is a gem rental on Maui. Located around Kihei, it is a perfect central location to explore the island, but far enough off the beaten track to provide the kind of privacy we preferred during our stay. Carrie was a wonderful host and made sure we lacked for nothing. She attended to any issue we had with speed and dedication. We knew we were in good care the whole time.The cottage itself, with its two quaint bedrooms and baths, was perfect for our needs. The beds were both spacious and comfortable. The kitchen provided all the modern convince anyone could want, plus a wide array of cookware to use.Grill Masters, be prepared for one of the best gas-grill experiences you can imagine.The real lure (and rightfully so) of the property is the private pool and bar area. The pool is a nice size for general swim, with a solid hot tub attached. The slanted, "beach entry," was very convenient. Behind the pool, the full-size bar had any tool you would need to create a mean cocktail.My favorite part of the stay was the outdoor shower. Provided with privacy and incredible vistas. I felt like I was in another world, perhaps Oz. I highly recommend anyone who wants a unique, private experience on Maui to consider Auntie Kali's Cottage. It is a first-rate experience for any traveler."
