Cool little spot. Dogs are not a fan of visitors, but was perfect for what I needed and would 100% stay here again. I don't know why there are skiing questions here, this a place in Hawaii, the surfing is good. Rad golf course right there played 18 it was fun.
They were very friendly and welcoming hosts. Their property was so clean, and it actually sleeps more than they listed. They were so helpful and kind and had everything we wanted ready for us.
The space was nice and clean. We had food to take with us during the trip up to sunrise viewing. My son had fun playing with the hosts’ kids. They were all kind and pleasant to talk with. The town, Makawao is a really cute little destination.
We didn’t spend too much time outside of sleeping here but the photos don’t do the space justice as it’s way larger than we expected. It’s almost like three full room sizes with a wonderful bathroom with stunning tile work. Definitely need to keep this location next time we come back
Nice stay, very welcoming family - they even left a simple breakfast for us in the fridge which was very sweet of them. We didn’t really stay much at the property, only came to sleep there while visiting national park. Safe neighborhood and clean environment. Haleakalā is only about 30-40 min drive from the house.
The host was very detailed with location, how to find the unit as well as how to get it. The host filled the unit with great local snacks - bread, guava butter, fresh fruits, coffee, etc.....such a special treat! The unit was very big with plenty of linens and towels. And the location is perfect when staying upcountry! We had a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back. Mahalo for your hospitality!!
I enjoyed our stay In Pukalani. It wae close to my son and his family and he made Christmas eve dinner and brought it down to us. They also enjoyed themselves! Iʻve been telling everyone about your place.Mahalo.Lynette
This property was misrepresented as a standalone unit in the listing. The listing mentions 'neighbors close by,' when in actuality the VRBO is a large room attached to a house where a family lives. The backyard and driveway are shared with the residents. The bathroom 'window' (individual movable slats, not a solid pane of glass) opens into the garage and it was very disconcerting hearing people speaking in the garage when in the shower or on the toilet, since they sounded as if they were in the room with me. There is a glass sliding door and curtain across from the bed. I believe the sliding door separates the unit we stayed in from a child's room or playroom as we often heard two children playing and talking. Again, when we rented this property we understood it was a private house or apartment so it was very disappointing to essentially have roommates during our stay. Because of this we were unable to fully enjoy our stay and our experience at the property did not meet expectations set by the property listing.
Breakfast provided was very generous (fresh fruit, pineapple wine, yogurt, instant oatmeal, coffee, yogurt, small bottle of milk) and room was clean. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, plenty of towels, beach towels, and two folding chairs were provided.
Host responded quickly to my question about laundry - no washer/dryer is available.
Very good location for the sunrise at Haleakala. Well equipped and a superb self-serve breakfast. We found everything we needed and loved staying there.
This property was very clean and in a good location for the activities we had planned. The light breakfast had a nice variety of food. The only negative is that it's connected to another residence that had dogs that barked alot.
Excellent location for visiting Haleakala NP. The drive for a sunrise reservation was not difficult at all and was fairly close. It was also easy to get down into town to the Target and other stores but was nicely located in a residential neighborhood on the slopes in Up Country. The host was communicative and helpful. The B&B was nicely decorated with unique and beautiful furniture and very clean and very organized. Everything is helpfully labeled. We would definitely consider staying here again on a return trip!
This place was perfect for my stay. The unit was clean, well-maintained, and exactly as pictured. Check-in was seamless, and I really appreciated that the host gave me space and didn’t bother me at all—everything was smooth and easy. It was quiet, comfortable, and hassle-free. I’d definitely book again!
This was in the perfect place for us arriving from the Big Island and going on the road to Hana the following day with a trip up to the summit of Haleakala on arrival day. The host had left some lovely gifts (coffee, chocolate, milk, yogurt and fruit), which was both thoughtful and handy. Clean, spacious and quiet. Only downside was bed for third person was very uncomfortable and not made up on arrival. Perhaps host had forgotten there were three of us. Definitely comfy for two and a great place for an overnight stay for convenience in a lovely neighbourhood in the foothills of the mountain.

Overall nice stay just for the night. Confusing side entrance. Not much close by. No outside seating.
