Everyone we encountered from hotel staff, to cab drivers, restaurant servers, liquor store workers, and locals, all were so helpful and friendly to us staying in Saint John from Nova Scotia. We were so appreciative of this!

There are lots of great restaurants, breweries, and bars within walking distance, but there is ongoing construction around the waterfront area, which was a little inconvenient.

Very confusing driving around Saint John. And on a holiday restaurants weren't even open but we did find a good one called "Lily's" on a small lake......great waterside dining not far from hotel.

"We had the most amazing stay at Breakwater! We enjoyed breathtaking views, watching the sun rise over the bay every morning, and relaxing in the hot tub by night! This home was stocked with every conceivable necessity, making our stay stress-free. Karen was the perfect host, responding quickly to our inquiries and even supplying little welcome gifts and day trip recommendations! A momma deer and her triplets visited us nearly every morning, adding to our delight, and we do believe we saw seals in the distance. The kids (ages 13-20) and I would highly recommend Breakwater as a relaxing retreat!"

"This property is definitely a diamond in the rough. It was a bit scary trying to find the property because of construction and a lack of signs on the roads (not the property’s fault). We asked the local firemen where the address was and they helped us. Parking was confusing but it worked. The building itself is a beautiful old mansion which has been converted to be a comfortable stay. The laundry was especially useful. "
