The Royal Oak Hotel

"Bathroom was clean, breakfast was excellent and the staff were super helpful. Mattress wasn’t very comfortable. The stair case carpet was very dirty and the public areas need decorating. There was a lot of noise from nearby bars until the early hours."

"Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very brief stay but perfect location for getting the train to France so we didn't use any of the services on offer as we left very early in the morning"

Broome Park Hotel

"Peaceful and scenic dog friendly hotel within 30 minute drive of Eurotunnel. Hotel has a golf course as well as large grounds with fields to walk the dog. Quality of food at hotel was good & you can bring your dog in the bar area when having dinner from bar or restaurant menu. Food and drink was, however, a little pricey. The dog fee of £30 per night per dog, nearly put us off booking the stay, as we were traveling through Europe and staying at hotels in Germany, Austria, France, Italy where they charge only 10 or 15 EUR in dog fee per dog per night."

"As an averagely priced room.. this is pretty great. For what we paid we got a massive room, big bed, nice bathroom and would have had breakfast included (we had other stuff to get to so couldn't indulge). The staff were helpful and getting in/getting settled was easy. It's attached to a pretty nice pub too, which is always a bonus. Slight negatives are: parking isn't free, the charge to borrow a travel cot was silly £15 for the night, I think) and the shower was a little run down (seal around the door going etc).. also the TV wasn't actually tuned to anything or connected to the WiFi to cast a phone. Relatively minor quibbles given what we paid and what we needed the room for. Would definitely recommend!"

"We had a 'cozy' room, meaning tiny, but it was nicely furnished with a TV and nice bathroom with a strong shower. The receptionist staff was friendly and helpful, pointing out the happy hour at the bar. 2 for 1 deal plus a cheese plate. The hotel is centrally located with parking behind ( parking in Canterbury is expensive). Very close to the town center and restaurants. Decent breakfast choices. The 14th century building successfully marries old and modern."
