All in all, a nice base for exploring the New Forest."

We had lunch at the hotel also, which was very good, I have some dietary issues and the staff/kitchen were more than happy to adapt my chosen dish for me. Plenty of room to park avoiding having to find a parking space which could be a long distance from the hotel, which is particularly important for us due to issues a member of our party has with walking long distances. A lovely view of the river and Salisbury Cathedral from the balcony leading off the bar/restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

An added handheld option for flexibility would be much better. There is a nice bar but no dinner service, although solid options are close by. All in all I enjoyed my overnight stay."
