"It was like living inside a fairytale, like Alice in Wonderland. The property and living area are spectacular. I love the art everywhere and the outdoor Waiulili stream and waterfall right on the property are breathtaking. We stayed there when hurricane nolo threatened the big island. It was rainy and windy but the beauty and comfort of the space outside and inside overpowered the worry of the storm. Darin was gracious and communicated well regarding our safety concerns. We even played a little in the stream when it stopped raining. I have amazing pictures. We hope to someday visit when it's sunny and we can splash in the Waiulili stream and soak in the absolute peacefulness and beauty of this place again. The old town of Honokaa is small, and very quaint. There are places to eat plate dinners. We had one and it was good. A pork stew with rice and potatoe salad. The people are very kind. The vastness of the valleys and green hills spattered with horses, goats and cattle leave you in awe. It's very very country up here. Like the upper peninsula in Michigan where I am from. We saw many waterfalls along the roads. Waipi'o Valley it's right down the road from the property and it is magical and first right in with the property."

"The whole experience was awesome. Some major points:1. The view is awesome. House is on 3 acres and you have a view of the ocean. You can watch cruise ships go by. No other neighbors to contend with. Peaceful. Sound of a running stream. Lots of Hawaiian forest surrounds the other sides.2. The house is exceptional. Two 360 degree decks that surround the house (upper and lower). Great shade and a constant breeze of clean air. Many outdoor chairs and lounges to recline on. Wonderful place to read a book. I did not watch TV for 2 weeks (but there is one).3. Upstairs is a large living room and a well equipped kitchen. Lots of windows to open and let the breeze come in. The house is about 1500 feet above sea level so the temperature is almost always perfect - probably about 6-8 degrees cooler than Hilo.. There is also 1 bedroom and a bath.4. On the occasional clear night the sky is magnificent. No nearby lights to detract from it.5. Downstairs the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths are large and comfortable. Again, lots of windows to let the breeze in.6. I want to live here. Planning on coming back."

"This was an amazing stay-cation!! From the beautiful property and the amazing rooms, the View, the rooms, the owners, the location, the entire stay was awesome!! Too short and I will definitely stay here again and again!! My family visiting from Montana, thought this place was just stunning and so did our local family!! Everything in the rooms and main house were fabulous!! Perfect location for going into Hilo town and definitely will look into a longer trip!! Thank you so much!! "Our stay was spectacular! This home was everything we could have dreamed plus some! The view was heavily, flowers were absolutely beautiful and the view of Waipio Valley was by far the most stunning view, right off our back porch! Our house manager Camile was truly a gem! She made our stay truly amazing! We will definitely be booking this home again in the future! I highly recommend this rental to anyone interested, you will not regret!"
