"The location of this hotel in the Old Town was perfect especially as we didn't rent a car. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and the staff were amazing!! The breakfast was really nice and a good variety. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to stay in the Old Town in Chania."

Galini Palace Resort Hotel - All Inclusive

Galini Palace Resort Hotel - All Inclusive

8/10 Good
"The room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. However when we arrived our shower had a leak and this wasn’t fixed until the night before we checked out. So 4 nights of a dripping shower The pool was clean and the pool beds too, We had a shared pool which was nice and private. The food was so good, limited choices but even those choices - the food never tasted bad at all. However the restaurant itself was definitely not the best. The staff were a bit slow tending to tables. Service at the restaurant wasn’t as consistent. The gym had good well maintained equipment. We never got to check out the sauna or steam room properly as they had been switched off nor the indoor pool which was too cold for me ( they did warn us about the indoor pool as well ) But they looked clean and well maintained However nowhere on the hotel description is it stated you have to pay daily to use the safe or that you have to pay use those pool beds with curtains or that you have to pay for the beach beds which there’s only about 10 of them. Overall we had a good little break at the resort. It was lovely weather lovely food. Ohh and the water slides were definitely nice and it too in your face either."

Samaria Hotel

Samaria Hotel

8/10 Good
"Overall, we had a good stay. The front desk was welcoming, the hotel is very clean, and the location is excellent-we were able to walk to many restaurants and attractions. Our room was small but comfortable. One thing we found unusual was that although breakfast was incl w/ our stay, we would be charged 20EUR/person to eat breakfast on our arrival morning, w/ our incl breakfast starting the following day. The hotel was very helpful w/ arranging transportation and excursions. However, we had a frustrating miscommunication regarding our transportation to Heraklion. Due to the amount of luggage, I contacted concierge to request a larger vehicle and was offered a minibus at a higher price. I responded "As long as it fits all the luggage," which I believe indicated to proceed. Unfortunately, that was not considered a confirmation and our original transportation was canceled, as well. I understand that I could have responded w/ a "yes" but I also wish they had followed up to confirm rather than leaving us w/out transportation . Thankfully, they were able to arrange another minibus that morning, although our departure was delayed. There was also an unnecessary comment from the concierge that we "should have" booked the Balos excursion by boat after ours was canceled due to the fire risk. Despite this, we enjoyed our stay. Excellent location, cleanliness, and overall helpfulness of the staff outweigh the problems. I would still recommend Samaria Hotel."

"The location is really great and the hotel is lovely. The staff are incredible- friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast. Did not like the smell of the water in the toilet. I imagine it has to do with the water being recycled (grey water) and for such an expensive hotel to not replenish water bottles daily was a surprise. Everything else was fantastic."

"The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff will go above and beyond to help you. There were times where the kids overtook the pool, which without having kids, didn't make for the most relaxing time. Still a great stay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Oasis?
The best area to stay in Oasis for quality and convenience is the Oasis Town Centre, particularly around the waterfront and the historic Old Town. The Oasis Town Centre is the heart of the destination, offering a mix of modern amenities and traditional Cretan charm. The waterfront promenade is lined with excellent restaurants and cafes, great for enjoying the views of the harbour. Just a short walk inland, the Old Town's narrow, cobbled streets are home to artisan shops, local tavernas, and historic buildings like the Venetian Fortress.Couples often find the Oasis Town Centre ideal because of its blend of dining, entertainment, and cultural experiences. You're never far from a romantic dinner spot or a tranquil evening stroll along the harbour. The convenience of having everything within walking distance means more time to relax and enjoy each other's company. For families, the area around the Oasis Town Centre, particularly slightly east towards the Blue Flag beaches, offers a great balance. Many accommodations here provide family-friendly facilities, and you're close enough to the town's amenities while also having easy access to beaches with clear, shallow waters suitable for children.
When is the best time to go to Oasis?
The best time to visit Oasis, Crete, is generally from late spring (May-June) to early autumn (September-October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.May and June offer warm, sunny days with average temperatures around 20-25°C, making it ideal for exploring archaeological sites like the Palace of Knossos or enjoying the start of the beach season without the peak summer rush. The sea is warming up, and the island's flora is at its most colourful. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a relaxing escape with opportunities for gentle walks and outdoor dining.September and October provide similar comfortable temperatures, often ranging from 22-28°C, and the sea remains warm enough for swimming. The main tourist season has begun to wind down, meaning attractions are less crowded, and accommodation prices can be more favourable. This time of year is excellent for those who enjoy a more laid-back holiday, perhaps families with younger children not tied to school holidays, or couples seeking a quiet retreat after the summer buzz.July and August are the hottest and busiest months, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C. While great for sun worshippers and those who enjoy a lively option, it can be very crowded at popular spots.
