comfy, nice staff, convenient, great amenities.
great place, great staff, kitchen, soda machine, laundry available, great space. not far from shops. would be nice to have some sort of divider between main entrance and the rest of the rooms as poeple go to the kitchen at night too and you can hear them, other then that it was very comfortable.

Very accommodating staff, quiet and clean. Really had a good slept with their comfy bed. Toilets are also clean with complete toiletries.

Small "boutique" type hotel. Rooms were a little on the small side but very adequate for our needs. Nice to have a "courtyard" unit. Only one "kitchen" type chair for sitting in and not much "tabletop" space. Overall good value. When leaving we discovered that the place is pet friendly for small dogs which is always a plus.

Very overpriced room. We booked a 'deluxe' room and it was not cheap. What we got was certainly not deluxe and overpriced by about $60 compared with other places we have stayed

Never again.
We are regular visitors to the Hawkes Bay, but our usual accommodation was booked out so we decided to try somewhere different. This appears to be a former nursing home or private hospital with paper thin walls that has been re-purposed as a lodge. First night: Drunken party in the "communal kitchen" til 2am. Very little sleep for us. Second night: Drunken fighting in the hallways in the middle of the night. Very little sleep for us. On the plus side, it was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Really clean and comfortable room. Pet friendly so reason we chose it. Ok for overnighter but you are away from centre in a somewhat odd suburban location.

It was perfectly located for what we needed. It isn't flash but it's clean and tidy. The walls are thin so you get a bit of noise but it wasn't an issue for us.

This property is actually an emergency housing property. It was noisey at night which meant no sleep for full paying guests. Interrupted by police searching for someone and people staying in their cars parked outside the property. Would not recommend

Hello. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay. Not quite sure what you meant by the weird set-up. We have sky on a large Tv in the communal lounge. Kindly remember this is a three star hotel, not a five star. We give excellent value for money

Parkside Lodge a hidden gem
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Parkside Lodge, convenient locality for us to visit friends, easy access, good off-street parking, clean , large bathroom and with every amenity we required, comfy bed, and cosy and warm , good wifi, plenty of coffee, tea, hot chocolate sachets provided daily which we appreciated, great communal kitchen area for cooking anything you wanted to, will definitely be staying there next time we visit Napier, price very reasonable too

Nice clean room, but very small for the price. Bathroom was terrible, the entire floor got soaked no matter how careful you were with the shower.

I did not build the motel, sorry. The shower is fine if you direct the shower head slightly towards a wall.

Thanks for your review. There is no problem with the shower, the shower head just needs to be directed towards the wall instead of out into the middle of the room.

Far to expensive for what it was. A bed in a room with ensuite, like a hospital room. Wifi didnt work, bed wss rock hard. Very disappointed. Not value for money. Will never go back and will not recommend.

Lovely greeting from staff, very helpful to orientating to local area/amenities. Extremely apologetic when the fire alarm was activated by guest flooding a bathroom and water getting into lower level alarm, but well managed. Love the quirky decor. The room was very comfortable and the kitchen for guests very well appointed. I would definitely stay again.

The receptionist walked us to our room, highlighting the location of the laundry facility and guest communal areas. The room was clean, ample parking and no WIFI connectivity issues. Unfortunately our room was close to the communal area so we were woken by the loud noises as those inside didn't close the door.

Noisy, thin walls
We were booked in for 8 nights and only stayed 1. Really noisy, we could here the people upstairs walking around. Also the guy next door kept us awake snoring walls are thin.

Napier a lovely place anyway, especially Taradale. Park side lodge has the best of everything about it. If you want to be alone you have privacy. If you want to be social there are social areas. If you get takeaway you can use the plates. If you want breakfast you can order. If you want snacks there are vending machines. Everything is there.
