Everything about the room was lovely EXCEPT the bed and bedding. All of the pillows provided were too high for me and I had a sore neck in the morning. The bed slumped to the middle. Oh and the tea selection wasn’t very good.

Sorry, which motel were you talking about, the standard studio units in Central Motor Lodge has been upgraded to Sleephead Elegance commercial-grade bed and mattress three months ago.

Friendly & helpful. Really helped to have a simple stovetop on top of microwave to cook with. Especially relieved to have the large grocery store open on & around public holiday vs Matamata which had theirs closed. Very walkable to eateries & bakery. Cute town.

We were not expecting much given this is a motel, but we were pleasantly surprised! The lady on the desk was so friendly and helpful. The room had a separate seating area and the room looked newly renovated. The kitchen was fully stocked and you could cook. The appliances etc looked new.

The staff were really supportive, especially since we had to request for an additional night due to the bad weather. They adjusted with what rooms were available for us.

Absolutely brilliant stay at Central Motor Lodge, the owner Jan was so lovely, we chatted and she is very experienced hotelier who had lots of local knowledge as well as a seasoned traveler herself. Room was clean and modern, very spacious, couldn't have asked for more, and we are world wide travelers ourselves. Would recommend to anyone.
