"A lovely place to be based for our family of 5 during our stay in South Beach. The Palms is a very clean and well maintained property which is close to restaurants but also a peaceful place to retreat to. The pool area is surrounded by lush green trees, fronds and flowers. There are plenty of seating options. The towel service and ice water is 5 star. There is a very nice, clean strip of beach and swimming area at the Palms. We loved sitting on the beach and the friendly staff down there. The rooms were well laid out and didn’t feel cramped. They were beautifully cleaned every day, There were a few things that were not great. The first thing was the elevators were slow; in both banks only 1/2 elevators were operating which made for long wait times and several trips up the stairs. The second was the service at the main bar which was both slow and not as friendly as the rest of the hotel. One night we waited 25 minutes to be served and made to feel as though we were the ones being impatient. Thirdly, there is a terrible smell of sewage on the main floor around the bathrooms in the lobby. All in all, we really enjoyed our time at the Palms and I’d definitely recommend it to families young and old. "
