Comfy beds, spacious living area, and easy parking for the units. On the main road, but far enough away that traffic isn’t too loud. All the units get sunlight throughout the day, and there are ski locks outside the units for winter. As a bonus, it’s walking distance to the new hot pools!

We’ve been back several times now. Super clean rooms every time! Only negative, is the beds are very soft, so if you prefer a firm mattress like us - makes for a bit of an uncomfortable sleep. Other than that - no complaints!

My family of six had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at Mount Hutt Motels. They had everything we needed in the unit we stayed in: fully set up kitchen, washing and drying facilities (at an additional cost), heaters turned on for a warm return after a day's skiing, great location, free parking and wi-fi... highly recommend.

Great stay and service
We stayed here as part of our 4-day ski trip to Mt Hutt and I requested a late check in as I was driving from Queenstown and the owners of the motel were there when I got at 9:30pm. We really appreciated this along with the recommendations of places to go to eat, walk and activities around the area.

Mount Hutt Gem!
We had a great stay at Mount Hutt Motels. Units were clean and well appointed and had everything you need for a getaway. The owners were super friendly and lovely. Free WiFi was excellent. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again. Thanks Sharryn and Keith!

pleased to have chosen to stay at mount hutt motel, very friendly and helpful owner. unit 7 was pleasantly spacious with pretty new looking carpet. too bad we didn't bring our tennis racquets along. fly screens would be nice but don't seem to be standard in new zealand.

Comfortable Motel.
Motel was very clean and tidy. The motel owners where very helpful. About 10 min walking to centre of town. We had a 2 bedroom unit, which worked well for our family. Kitchen was well stocked with every utensil to cook a meal. Was very warm the heater was always turned up higher for when we arrvied back from the ski field.

Loved out Stay
We showed up not knowing what to expect and were very happily surprised. To start, the owners are Very helpful and friendly and take great pride in carrying for their rooms. They even left the heat on for us so our room would be warm when we came back from the day. The rooms are spacious, the beds were comfortable, the seperate kitchen was nice and it was very close to town. Great stay for a great price. You should expect that the heating for the winter is set up with a wall heater which takes a little while to heat the room but then an additional electric blanket is provided to heat the beds directly. We would definitely stay there again if we were passing through.

Avery old motel very few basic facilities
No heater in the bathroom....this is in Methven where it gets cold...9 degrees during our stay, have to open window! No plug point in bathroom apart from shaver plug, no plug points in bedrooms apart from behind the bed so impossible to get at. Water pressure in shower was Terrible. Toilet door hard to open. No rubbish bins in bedrooms or bathroom. Quite an expensive unit and asked to do our dishes when we left. Would not recommend.

Not sure where to start with this one.. $125 for a fully self contained unit with new kitchens, furniture, curtains & carpets is extremely good value!! The plugs in the bedroom are behind the bed with 4 way powerboards each side to ensure guests have plenty of sockets for all their gadgets! The toilet door is a saloon door which pushes both ways ?? There are rubbish bins in the kitchen & bathrooms, one of which could be moved if this suited your needs better. I have never & will never ask guests to do their dishes but I do have a 'Thankyou for doing your dishes' sign under the dishcloth & detergent in the kitchen cupboard, because I genuinely do appreciate guests leaving the room in a tidy manner! This is a clear case of 'Champagne taste on a beer budget.'

Handy to Methvan. A 5 minute drive
I arrived late went to bed and left about 8 am so it was difficult to rate. Just struck me as an average motel room. Used the microwave and hob. Shower was average. Did phone to say I was arriving late and the owner was grateful and left the key out. The motel is on the main road, which was not that busy. It is well set off the road and I did not hear any traffic. The place was quiet. Which I like a lot. Weather it would be in the middle of the ski season I do not know. I felt it was good value for money. I do not know if the price goes up in the ski season.

This vague review is such a disappointment..guests need to know the impact of their comments on the business they are reviewing..We are only 1 minute from town, the guest slept in a very comfortable bed stepped onto lovely new carpet, ate in a brand new kitchen and left smelling the roses from the award winning gardens.

Clean, comfortable units in a lovely setting.
A quiet peaceful feel and you drive into the very well kept grounds. It's not a huge complex with heaps of units which gives a nice relaxed feel. Owners nice and laid back and friendly. Units, although not brand new are clean, comfortable and well maintained. Parking is excellent right outside each unit. Highly recommend.

Ski trip with family
Stayed with my 3 adult messy children in single room and still felt comfortable. the owners are lovely and really making an effort. It is not the latest design in rooms but very very clean and well appointed to prepare lunches for the mountain or cook a meal. the grounds are lovely and we were able to walk into town to test out the local pubs and restaurants. Excellent value, definitely recommend it

Lovely friendly motel
Very friendly and comfortable place. Hosts were very helpful (DVD didn't work and they sorted it very quickly). Clean and tidy and very convenient for Mt Hutt (on the road into Methven from Mt Hutt - first motel you come to!). Outside ski racks are very cute! Kids had fun playing tennis on the grass.

Very pleasant hotel
Owners were very helpful, units very spacious and its just a fabulous spot for true relaxation with views of Mount Hutt and the village a pleasant stroll away. Nothing was a problem for the staff.

Uninspired accommodation
We knew as soon as we opened the door to the unit that we were paying too much. The bedspread was old and shabby, the room dark and austere. If you like a soft saggy mattress, then this is the place for you. The view from our room was the parking lot, the view from the kitchenette- a fence. It was the off season (April) so maybe that explains the fact we were the only customers. As for the town of Methven, the choice of eating places was two or three places, all of which had no customers when we were looking for a good meal. We ended up going to the small grocery store and buying ingredients for a quick supper. I would have to say we are very disappointed with Expedia and distrustful of ratings.

Mount Hutt Motel
Had the most lovely one night stay here ever, the grounds are amazing, so I got to enjoy taking photos of the gorgeous gardens, the unit while older has been modernised beautifully, was immaculately clean, and one of the largish units ever. The manager was lovely and welcoming, overall our stay was perfect ~ highly reccomend this motel, value for money to boot!!

Nicest hosts in New Zealand
My son and I stayed for a couple of days and were just amazed how warm, welcoming and friendly the owners were. We checked in early....."no problem"......we needed to go into town...."I'll drop you in"....there was nothing they couldn't do. In fact the highlight was when we returned from a day on the slopes to find our heater had been turned on as well as the electric blanket....gold. This place is a 5 star hotel masquerading as a small local motel but without the attitude. Thanks so much, we loved it.
