"I recently stayed at this hotel in the Lake District with my family for five nights. Our main goal was to climb Scafell Pike, and this hotel stood out as the nearest option within my price range. Initially, I didn’t have very high expectations (despite the good reviews), but those quickly changed once we arrived. The location was peaceful and quiet, the car park was large and well-planned, and the room exceeded my expectations—it was far more spacious than any hotel room I’ve stayed in before. The staff were warm, humble, and genuinely welcoming, which added to the experience. Breakfast was included in the price and was a real highlight. Instead of a standard buffet, you order from a menu (available online), and the food is freshly prepared for you. There were plenty of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices, which I thought was excellent. The bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The only small drawbacks were that the sofa bed was only a single (despite there being enough room for a double), and the showerhead over the bathtub was fixed. The location was very convenient—just a 25-minute drive to Scafell Pike and about 40 minutes to the west coast, where towns like Whitehaven and Workington offer plenty of restaurants (including McDonald’s, KFC, and Domino’s for budget options), as well as major supermarkets like Morrisons, ASDA, and Tesco. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay here and would happily return. Highly recommended."
