"Nice friendly and clean"

"Still a great hotel but things have definitely slipped since my last few visits. Slow check in, bathroom extractor fan not working, partially blocked bath and faulty lights. All small problems but it does point to slipping standards. I’ll give it one more go, based on previous experiences but might have to find another favourite hotel for my trips to Blackpool if things remain the same. "

"Hmmm ... it was a very nice hotel (in 1965). It has retained some of its characteristics from then until the 90s, but is now a little dated. Location is fine, but with nothing open around it (early May is not peak holiday season) it felt a little isolated. After a 6 hour motorcycle journey, Aviemore itself was just too far away so had to stay in. The evening meal at £25 each felt a bit steep, but the buffet meal was ok. The staff is really nice and helpfull but in weekends the buffet breakfast was way too crouwded. 1 minus: inside the hotel it is super hot and it is not possible to open any windows in the hotel rooms "
