"A modern bathroom in a 14th century hotel was definitely not expected. WiFi worked in the room. The staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast provided a good selection and the cooked items were really good. Sunday lunch was close to home made with plenty of different vegetables. Will definitely return!"

Nice evening meals available, although slightly limited for vegetarians and later eaters on Sundays outside of peak season, as the service stopped at 7pm. The bar staff did let me know though, so I didn't go hungry! Fantastic, fresh breakfasts with really good quality ingredients. Above all, the staff were amazing. As a solo, female traveller, I felt safe and well-cared for. Caroline particularly gave a personalised service and went above-and-beyond to ensure I was happy and comfortable during my stay. Wonderful!"

"I needed a one night stay and this was ideal. The room was clean, the location a short stroll from the harbour area and parking a few yards away at reasonable cost. Full English Breakfast was just the job and set me up for the day!"

"Reception staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we arrived and helped us with our bags. The room was quite big and had a side sea view and it was lovely sleeping with the window open, listening to the sea. The room was very hot but better on second night as we'd left the window open all day. The room and bedding were clean. Room decor was very plain, could have done with a few pictures. As other reviews have said, hot water took a while to come through and even then, was fine for me but my husband prefers a hotter shower. Also, the water didn't drain away quickly enough. No food or bar available but we knew this beforehand. There are plenty of choices of cages, pubs and restaurants within 5-10 minites walk for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was excellent value for money bit bear in mind, the low price reflects the fact that decor could do with an overhaul. At this price though, we would definitely consider staying again."
