Pub light meal good and Sea Shanty singers a bonus.Good position to enjoy Lynmouth and convenient for the excellent Cliff Railway to see Lynton. enjoyed the Norther Walk and the Valley of Rocks. Very friendly people - made to feel welcome, thank you.

Amazing location in beautiful Lynmouth. We booked a suite and had the most stunning sea view. Very clean and modern bedroom. Great food in the restaurant. Very friendly staff and service. We had a very happy 2 night stay.

Staff at the hotel were warm and friendly. They couldn’t have done more to make us and our 2 dogs feel welcome. Breakfast was great. Food very fresh and plenty of choices. The hotel location is perfect and within easy reach of everything that Lynmouth and Lynton has to offer. We will definitely be returning.

We ensured we arrived before 17.00 hours as the hotel has no-one on reception from 17.00hrs onwards. We felt this was a little restrictive although the Ancient Mariner staff were available to a later time in the evening. We found it convenient to have restaurant and bar food available at the Ancient Mariner and can thoroughly recommend it too. Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 10.00, a decent interval of time. The staff were pleasant and friendly but service for the hot food was a little slow at times. The choice of cereals, juices, fruit, croissants was plentiful and the hot food was very tasty. The room was not huge (after all we were in the 'Snug'!) but it was sufficient, while a second comfy chair would have been welcome. The WiFi worked perfectly well. The hotel was a very convenient base for exploring the beautiful local area. Again, the staff were good at directing us to the local car-parks and advising us we might consider a 4 day pass from the tourist office, Worth noting that car-parking is free by the roadside from 1st November to Good Friday.

Love this hotel so much. There was some confusion over the room that I thought I had booked, but that was really my fault rather than the hotel, but they went to all lengths to make sure we were happy - and we were. Staff are super friendly, not just in the hotel but the restaurant for breakfast and in the attached pub next door. Such a great stay - thank you for looking after us :)

Simply a nice place to stay.

Third time this year we have stayed here so far. One of our favourite places to stay and never disappoints. rooms are all unique, staff welcoming, food excellent, location so nice in the heart of England's little Switzerland. Great for Dogs, good food, good beers, and picturesque.

Wonderful hotel and setting.

The Bath Hotel is definitely recommended. In the heart of Lynmouth, it provides a delicious breakfast with plenty of choice. Our room was comfortable and clean, overlooking the river mouth and sea.

The property seems to be family owned and seemed to be run a bit slap dash. The pictures online have had some photo shopping and first impressions were a bit of a letdown. Staff were thin on the ground and some were inexperienced in hospitality. The room was clean and tidy, although we did look in a suite which looked really nice so I would suggest you book one of these if you go. Excellent breakfast and food at the bar at night was excellent. Big up to the chef. The hotel is well located to travel out to different areas of Exmoor and beyond. 8 / 10 if I was being honest.

Nice cosy hotel

Nice cosy and friendly hotel with pub, good breakfast, attentive staff, allows dogs hence we stayed there. Only two negatives…small very firm double bed not king size, and pub/restaurant didn’t serve food until 18:30 in the evenings.

Very nice hotel run by nice people. The bed and the room (we had a suite) was a little small, but we got used to it. We had our own parking which was very convenient. Breakfast was well prepared and good service.
