"We had a fantastic stay at the Martinhal in Chiado. We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights and the accommodation was excellent - very clean, spacious, quiet and great that the bunk beds were in the living space as opposed to the main bedroom. The breakfast was good - not as comprehensive as other hotels I've been too - but enough choice to ensure that everyone was well fed before heading out for a day tackling Lisbon's hills. "Nice modern property, good valet parking which made it easy to access by car which is not always easy in Lisbon. Staff attentive, room spacious however there were a number of little things that could be better. I found the fact the bathroom is basically in the bedroom with glass walls a bit odd, the electrical blinds seemed cool but didn’t always work which was annoying, they wouldn’t give me a locker in the spa said I should go back to my room to change! If they get the little things right...

"The hotel is centrally located in a very nice and safe part of Lisbon. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast delicious and available amenities very nice. The only issue we ran into was that the restaurant recommendations from the staff were terrible. Do NOT eat at Gina’s - some of the worst food of the trip."
