"We had a villa room on the ground floor. Both, my wife and I loved the resort. Staff, food, location and pools were great. The service around the pools were exceptional. I would highly recommend this property. "

"I recently stayed at Aquamarine Resort after booking through Expedia, and unfortunately the experience did not match what was advertised in the listing. While the room itself was generally acceptable, the bathroom was extremely small and not very functional. Additionally, the in-room refrigerator was unplugged and unusable upon arrival, which reflects a lack of proper room preparation and added unnecessary inconvenience. More concerning, however, was the clear gap between the advertised amenities and the actual experience. The listing promoted activities and themed entertainment, but in reality, activities were either poorly organized or entirely nonexistent. There were no meaningful “theme nights” as described, which made the resort feel misleading. The food quality was also significantly below expectations. It was comparable to basic cafeteria food, with very limited variety, making meals repetitive and disappointing throughout the stay. The resort also seemed to cater primarily to local visitors, and communication was sometimes challenging due to limited English among staff. While the staff were polite and well-intentioned, this did make it more difficult to address concerns during the stay. Overall, this experience did not reflect the value or standard presented on Expedia, and I feel I was overcharged for what was provided. Given the discrepancies and lack of advertised amenities, I believe a partial refund would be a fair and reasonable resolution. I hope this feedback "

"The staff was amazing, everybody was super kind and helpful throughout. The amenities could use some work as they really only had a pool and not much more but it’s worth it for the price. The beach it’s on is not the best but again, worth the price!"

"We’ve stayed at several resorts in Cancun, including Le Blanc Spa Resort Cancun, Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancun, Seadust Cancun Family Resort, and Live Aqua Beach Resort Cancun, and honestly The Royal Cancun is underrated. The lobby isn’t super impressive, but the rest of the resort is beautiful. It’s a membership resort, so if you book through Expedia they may approach you, just say no if you’re not interested. This is not a party resort, it’s peaceful and relaxed, with light entertainment like water aerobics, bingo, live music, and even a fun silent disco. We mostly ate at the main restaurant and never got tired of it. You can do buffet or order off the menu. I’m gluten sensitive and they did great with made-to-order options like French toast, and the mocha coffee was so good. Service was excellent, and tipping was easy with their zero-dollar receipts. We spent about $200 in tips over five days and it was worth it. The maid service was top notch, coming back to a clean room every day was incredible. The resort grounds are pristine and great for pictures. The beach is beautiful with calmer water, great for snorkeling, and they offer free kayaks and paddle boats. We loved the villa-style rooms, plenty of space for our family of five and it felt more like home than a hotel. Overall, if you want peace, simplicity, and quality time, this is your place. Five stars from our family."
