Beautiful NYE spot
We had a lovely stay for two nights. The spa especially was lovely on a rainy NYE while watching fireworks. A beautiful view and so peaceful.

What an awesome view!
We had such a wonderful, lovely time here. What’s better than enjoying the awesome views from the spa, lighting up a fire, and enjoy some card games we haven’t played for some years?! Thanks for having us :)

Tranquil Lake View Retreat
I took a 3 night stay at this lodge with partner and was completely stoked with the quiet and the lake view. The lodge has a lot of pros on top such as ample wood supply for the fire burner, huge garden with fresh fruit to wonder through, hot tub with a view, spacious rooms, private location, great value, well stocked kitchen and the property manager Max looked after us too. The cons of the property would be minor, my recommendation would be some curtains in the bedroom to allow sleep in if guests in the future wished to do this. We loved this stay and will be back again if we are so lucky to have the opportunity to do so, Thank you guys!

Spectacular setting

Stunning Location
Absolutely stunning location and very peaceful. The property managers are wonderful and very helpful. After spending the days hiking it was wonderful to relax in the hot tub and take in the beautiful views. Highly recommend staying here.

I know the rating only goes to 5, but we give this place a 10. It was private, quiet, and well equipped. The grounds were absolutely lovely, and we had an extraordinary view of Lake Taupō from every window. We were close to fabulous hiking, like the Tongariro Alpine Crossing (a must-do). We should have booked a week there instead of just 3 days. Be forewarned that there’s no internet or microwave, but we did not miss either of them. You will love this place.

Amazing place to relax
Fantastic property and great hosts. Secluded and peaceful. Amazing views over the lake. House is well furnished and has everything you would need. Communication was spot on, great directions and access instructions. Fantastic stay. Would recommend.

An absolutely lovely setting with an amazing view and beautiful natural gardens. The lodge is spacious, nicely furnished, well-stocked, and beautifully designed to take in the gorgeous views. We absolutely loved our time there.

Not a luxury stay
- Bedroom had queen bed fitted with two over sized single bed mattress.The mattress and pillows were hard and uncomfortable.The mattres kept on sliding out of the bed frame creating a gap in between.Advised the prpoperty manager to change it and they go 'some couple like the gap between' lol - got bitten by flees/bed bug ,property manager turned up (without prior calling) with a magnifying glass to find the bugs and offered to changed.We both were enjoying the afternoon nap and have to get up and deal with it. - 2nd day of stay property manager turns up (without prior calling) with a lawn mower guy asking for lawn mowing for some time as the weather was good.Lawn mowing lasted for 3 hrs.All our videos to enjoy the good weather and location has lawn mowing noise at back ground.There are no blinds on windows for couple to enjoy the privacy. - half of the property was locked not stated would have been good if it was advised to us. Overall the view is good however out of all the bach we stayed this year this one was over priced and poor service and very uncomfortable.We felt there was no privacy.

This review makes false claims. This traveler insisted on one night booking despite being advised that two nights is the minimum stay. After the first night traveler raised multiple complaints which property manager addressed. Traveler was offered to leave and get refund but traveler decided to stay one more night.

Quiet Retreat with Incredible Reviews
We enjoyed our stay with incredible views of the lake from the patio. The host was very accommodating and helpful. We were in 45 minutes of the Tongariro National Park and 30 minutes of a lake hike/bike. Thank you for the relaxing and quiet stay. Dave

Minimalist comfortable stay
Property is very secluded/private. Hot tub was a great touch. Very minimalist place where you can escape from the world. We enjoyed it and it was priced properly for what you got. I’d recommend to others.

Great place to stay…
An excellent, well appointed place for a quiet getaway. The Bookabach site was not working especially well, which made booking a bit tricky, but the location and facilities were absolutely worth the effort.

Perfect Peace In Paradise
If you’re looking for location to get away from it all, with the comforts of high end accommodation while surrounded by natural bush and spectacular lake views, then this is the place for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would contemplate having the chef next time 😉 If you’re wanting to get away from all electronics consider bringing board games or a deck of cards. We will be back 😊

Fantastic escape
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. Clear instructions for check in, check out and property use. Very tidy house that has everything you need to unwind. Fantastic views. Very private. We loved it and already want to visit again. Huge thanks to the hosts!

A Blissful Escape
This is a great place to escape to if you need a reset and to get away from everyone and the busyness of life (if only for a short time). Not having TV or the internet here is a good thing, as was nice to zone out from all the noise & commotion (although that said it was nice playing nice background music while soaking in the hot tub and taking in the vista but also hearing and seeing local native birds is just as rewarding. Also a very nice view to wake up to every morning. The gardens on the estate are lovely too. This place is definitely at the top of my list for ‘reset’ getaways.

Tranquil getaway
Really lovely views and quiet location. The bed is two single mattresses together on a king base, with a single duvet on each mattress, with 1 thin blanket over the two to give the look of a king bed. We were there when it was very cold, -2°, and although the bedroom has a small wall heater, there was no extra blankets or curtains so the bedroom was too cold to sleep in for us, even with the heater going, so we ended up sleeping in the lounge with the fire. Max bought over extra firewood. Overall really enjoyed our stay but would recommend extra blankets if going to be there when it’s extremely cold.

Great views, serene setting
Great place to stay if you need a peaceful getaway and time to switch off. Fantastic views, great fire. Bed could be upgraded to make this a more comfortable and romantic stay & recommend packing a blue tooth speaker of the like for some background noise.

A true get away!
Absolutely amazing property with stunning views. Waking up to the sunrise and birdsong. Then looking at the stars and the milky way at night. Great communication from owner and property managers. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back.

Great spot!
We really enjoyed relaxing here. Great views of the lake and large living area and great kitchen space. The only criticism we have is that the bed was rock hard which we were not used to. But all in all we enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful place but a few issues
We had trouble checking in. The key provided would not open the property. We needed to call the property manager to let us in. The photos are misleading, the hot tub shown does not work, this needs to be made clear to guests. The house has no curtains, which means no privacy and removes the ability to sleep in.
